there is no need for a torrent download...

You can download or create New setup media using either source..

There is no difference between upgrade version and a key or box bought in a store. There can be a difference in the license. The upgrade is only licensed on that computer, where the full retail can be uninstalled from a computer and installed on another.

The difference between the free upgrade version and what you would buy in the store is the way it activates. The store bought version will activate based upon the included product key alone, while the upgrade version will activate first based upon evidence of a previously licensed OS found on that computer - which then gets stored on Microsoft servers - which then can be retrieved by the same computer for later activations.

Other than the way it activates, there is no difference.

What you get from a torrent is anyone's guess because those are not from Microsoft - those are from whomever uploaded them.

    reading the products.xml
The new setup media downloads as both OEM and retail..

Actually all the MS ISO's are the Retail Release - other then preview releases

Read somewhere that the latest Win 10 Insider Prev will be upgrades to Win 10 full when it is released. A good idea to install this sooner rather than upgrading Win 7 / 8.1 to 10?
