"This app can't run on your PC" error when opening Task-Manager

    Hi everyone!

For a few days now I am unable to install or uninstall anything, do a anti-virus-scan, run anything as administrator, opening an .exe-file or simply opening the Task-Manager. I always get the same error message (see attachment). Except when I'm in Safe Mode.

Avira-Systemcheck in Safe Mode doesn't find anything bad and so I have no clue what causes this and how to repair it.

I hope someone can help me!

    Regards,
    Hat

    Have you tried sfc /scannow
If not go to start right click
    Then click on Run
    Then enter sfc /snannow
notice the space between the c and /
It could take some time just let it run
Let us know how you get on
think you can also run this from safe mode

Thanks for your quick answer! I just tried it in Safe Mode several times but it always just stops at 10% and closes the window. In normal mode I can't even start it.

Can I assume that there were days when you did NOT have this problem ?
If yes, do a system restore and pick a date when you did not have this issue as your restore point.
    System Restore Windows 10

    2. Create another user account with exactly the same privileges as this one.
Logon to the new account and see if the problem persists.
If no problem in the new account, your old account could be corrupted.
If so, back up whatever you want to keep and delete the corrupt account.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks a lot for your tips! I tried both of them. First one: It says i never made a restore point, so I wasn't able to restore the settings. I thought this is normally made automatically...

Anyway your second tip worked I created a new administrator account and it all seems to be working normally here.

    Thanks again!

    You are welcome.

From now on, have a habit to create a restore point in a regular basis, say once a week.
When to create a restore point ?
In general. when everything is running A-OK. That's a good time to create a restore point.

Quote from one of Brink's tutorials...........
Windows automatically creates restore points just before significant system events, such as the installation of desktop apps and new Windows Updates, if the last restore point is older than seven days if no other restore points were created in the previous seven days. You can also create restore points manually at any time.

One more thing, in case you have not done it.
About the account you have trouble with.......
Backup whatever you want to keep, then delete it. It's no good to you anymore.
