Thank you all for your replies. Comparing Win 10 on my Venue 11 Pro with 4gb RAM to this tablet, to my Precision laptop, work desktop, etc, I've resolved to regress to Win 8.1 and avoid 10 on this Venue 8 Pro (3845).

    Thanks again!

Unlike many other competing products CleanMem is relatively harmless but still not beneficial. Any perceived benefits are due to the placebo effect.e.
And yet several several people solved their problems (some serious) on tenforums thanks to Cleanmem.

Really? I thought these utilities were snakeoil - it is certainly what Mark Russinovitch is saying here in The Memory-Optimization Hoax

Even without knowing how these products take advantage of the Memory Manager to inflate a highly visible and provocatively named memory metric, common sense suggests that if RAM optimization were possible (and could be implemented by so many small-time upstarts), Microsoft developers would have long since integrated the technology into the kernel.

Time to upgrade, get a new tablet.
1GB of RAM is worth nothing in 2015
So lets not even talk about 2016
Please read the requirements of Windows 10 before you install it.
If you are not satisfied with Windows 10 running on only 1GB of Memory, please go back to your previous OS.
You are wasting peoples time and effort on this site.
U must be a Win 10 newbie or just uninformed as to why we have Win 10 in the first place ☻

W10 x86 *can run * on 1 GB but it won't run as fast as it could but it should be faster than 8.1 at 1 GB with the improved hdd caching and new ram page file compression and more efficient video stack ,audio stack, memory and process management and fast indexing not present in Windows 8.1 . ☻

OP if you decide to stay on win 10 on your tablet maybe clean out your Old Windows files using diskclean your OLD OS is stored in there for ~ 30 days.... that will free up some drive space and maybe speed up things a bit also check your start menu in task man and disable any unnecessary startup apps that may be running unnecessary background processes . FWIW Windows 10 likes breathing room and can slow down a lot when a drive gets 75 -80% full depending on the size of the drive .

I have 3 PC's here on Win 10 RTM and have been on the test builds on this dual boot machine since Feb. 15.

FWIW you *can get the windows 8.1 file out of your old windows file folder and convert it to an .ISO or bootable USB media before you clean out the OLD windows file ,if not Windows 10 will do that in about 4 weeks anyway .

FWIW clean men claims it doesn't push things to the page file in case you don't know Windows 10 specifically keeps a new compressed ram page file in your physical ram before it writes to the hdd page file which sould only happen in w 10 if you max out the ram and by then your system would be crawling anyway and you should be closing things .

IOW cleanmem is likely a useless tool especially in Windows 10 like most of that stuff .
Windows 10 already has improved memory and resource management that eliminates the need for 3rd party 'helpers' .

SRSLY If you want to clean out your ram ( volatile memory ) just cold boot your PC once in awhile ☻

Trucker answered your question. Microsoft recommends at least 4 GB RAM for Windows 10. From what I could see with his answer, he looked your tablet up and it should take 4 GB Maiximum.

When people try to help you, you don't slap the around by saying, "You didn't answer the question I posted."
FWIW Windows 10 requirements are 2 GB on x64 and 1GB min on x86 (32 bit) Windows same as 8.1 and so on

    • Processor:
1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC
    • RAM:
1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit
    • Hard disk space:
16 GB for 32-bit OS 20 GB for 64-bit OS
    • Graphics card:
DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver
    • Display:
      800x600

Really? One thing I will say for Windows 10 is that it ran surprisingly brisk when I tested it on an old HP Pentium IV system with 1 GB of RAM.
I've been thinking about testing that out on an old retired P4 3.0 Ghz box with XP x86 and 4 GB ram in my storage building out back just to see how it compares to XP on that thing .

It should run fine; I have Windows 10 RTM and Windows Insider on a laptop with only 4 GB RAM and it does pretty good. I don't notice it being very much slower than this desktop with 8 GB RAM.

Probably better than XP x86 which almost drove me to Linux Ubuntu ☻

I have an old Dell 3.0 Core Duo 4 GB off lease box here in another bedroom I put together for a family member with a new 24" screen updated from win 7 x64 pro to Win 10 RTM the thing is remarkably faster on Win 10 .

This dual boot 8 GB 4 core Phen. II x 4 box daily driver is also noticeably faster on some things than it was on 7 x64.
I might put a new SSD in a dual boot configuration in here like it is now on metal and use the the TB hdd for a storage drive just to see what shakes out although it's decently fast as it is .

The i7 HP Elitebook runs well on RTM also it took to the upgrade like a duck to water . The i7 workstation with the nVidia gaming dGPU is still on 7 x64 for now we'll see what shakes out for that later on .

DX 12 games will be coming out and SWBF and some others might be interesting with DX 12 on the i7 W.S. with the OC water cooled nVidia dGPU so I'm thinking about getting another hdd and dual booting that one for gaming and drive sims in W10 and keeping the $$$ stuff on Win 7 x64 for now .

Back to the OP, IMO there is no reason his tard pad should be any slower on win 10 than win 8.1 at 1Gb vs
1Gb outside of driver or configuration issues.
