Even if you Reset this PC or do a clean install of Win 10 does regedit.exe crash? I have installed a few systems and have yet seen this.

You really should try and get over Regedit crashing. It chokes on a certain key. Some systems may not have that key. Yes, Regedit should never do that, regardless of the key. But that may be the reason why it works on some systems. I've provided free alternative registry editors above. Get one and be done with it.

If new regedit finds a long enough key, it loops as you show. Just use regedit from 10240, it don't have this bug.
Never seen that. I'm done. Next problem................

No offense, but not helpful. I am trying to solve the same problem here and looking for clarification on your post(s).

Second try. So, where would one get 10240?

You would have to have an old version on the Windows 10 iso saved on your computer. Unless you can find it somewhere on the web.
Have you tried resetting your Windows 10?? Or running sfc /scannow to see if it reports any problems??
Another choice is to run Dism command: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and see what it may report.
another choice would be to download a 3rd party regedit program.

Here is Regedit extracted from the RTM Windows 10 Pro 64-bit build 10240 (this was the first official build released). This resolves the issue, but I don't know what changes were made to regedit in the most recent build (10586) and why.
    Download Regedit.exe Win10 64-bit Build 10240: Regedit Win10 b10240.zip

You'll Need to Take ownership of regedit.exe in C:\Windows and then assign yourself full permissions before you can replace the file. Remember to Backup the Original First!!!! Here are instructions:

VirusTotal.com Report of above regedit.exe file:
