Well u now know MS key to success do no real testing other then BS showoffs betas then charge money release and then start to fix each fault not to mention 0 days one sucker at a time till SP1 then it appears its makes sense to put a toe into the water before then u are merely testing their crap with ur important data. After all MS created whole large nitch of backing everything up cuz who knows when POS goes crazy STARTS BSOD when u didnt touch anything and then posting 100 questions and by then someone with enough knowledge will solve ur issue.
So in your eyes the real issue is money not OS itself ? Heck, even Rolls Roys had issues and recalls to fix initial shortcomings. it's inevitable. If we were waiting for everything to be perfect, not even stone tools would be invented.

I'd just like them to be on par with apple.

Well, in order to do that Microsoft would have have to triple their prices.

Was talking to one of the Top technicians at a major UK ISP a few years ago - He stated that although they only had just under 10% of Apple users, these users generated 25%+ of all issues that they dealt with. It could well be that Apples reliability is more to do with good advertising and spin. The other option would be that apple attracts a lot of non technical users which means tey need more help

Also Wi-Fi on Macs is much more unreliable than it is on Windows, especially the last 2 or 3 OSX releases. I've used both for years (normally running Windows on MacBooks) and Windows is just more reliable for Wi-Fi even on the same hardware.

You may be surprised at the number of professional users who utilise MAC hardware to run Windows - Mac hardware is normally good although vastly overpriced for what it is, When it comes down to it Apple are a hardware company and Microsoft is a software company, mixing the two makes sense. Saying all this the current hardware in bespoke windows machines at the top end is every bit as good if not better than Apple hardware and still costs about half of the apple equivilent
