Folders and Files have Blue Pointing Arrows

Hi there, sorry if this is the wrong forum thread.
On my secondary hard drive I get these arrows on EVERY single file and folder, there's only one folder on the root of the hard drive that doesn't have it, but a few files in it have it, but those are in folders that also have it. At first I thought it might be because Compressed settings are switched on because that's the only difference between the system disk and his one.

And you would be absolutely correct - it is :) New double blue arrows for shortcut overlay?

Thanks! But is there any other way to keep Compression on but get rid of the arrows? I realise the compression is almost useless but it takes too long undo it.

Why too long? Crank it up and go to bed. It will be doen by the time you get up.

Compression is sometimes turned on by disk cleanup, to prevent this from happening again delete this registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
    CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches\Compress old files

You can export the key before deleting it, just in case you want it back. Disable compression from disk properties or use the following command:

    compact /u /a /f /i /s:c:\

I was hoping to get rid of the overlays without removing the disk compression properties. Thanks for your help, I'll be sure to delete the registry entry

You might be able to get rid of them as discussed in this thread and you'll just have to find the right icon in the 1st step of the tutorial

If there was one thing I was hoping to avoid, it's editing the imageres.dll. I see it in the .dll but I can't find it in Resource Hacker. I guess those annoying arrows aren't looking as bad as before.
