    Accidentally deleted desktop folder

I have accidentally deleted my desktop folder. It is now renamed "downloads" and appears twice in file explorer under "this PC". I messed it up when I tried to make all my downloads go to the desktop. I can see it and work with it, but I want the desktop name back. I feel really dumb. Is there a way to get it back?

Hello Kitscho, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Using steps 3 and 5 in OPTION TWO of the tutorial below to restore the default locations of your Desktop and Downloads folder should be able to help.

Thank you for your suggestion, but that still left me with 2 download folders and no desktop folder..... If I could just rename one of the download folders as "desktop" that would make me feel better...but... alas, that does not seem to be an option...

Sometimes it may take a couple of restarts.

Set to show hidden files to see if you may have the "C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop" folder, but it's just hidden.
