Windows 10: Missing sleep option in the power menu in Win10
Missing sleep option in the power menu in Win10
I installed Win10 yesterday on my desktop, but sleep is not an option on power menu. Have tried all options that I find in various forums including driver updates and system settings, but can not get a sleep mode for the power menu. Maybe Win 10 thinks my desktop is a laptop as I only have hibernate for an option. I have tried using hibernate, but my PC "wakes" anyway and uses too much power with fans. Only power saving solution now is to shut down completely each time I walk away. I have not found the solution in forums for adding back sleep to the menu.
Thanks for the help

Are you only looking in the Win10 Settings menu or have you checked in the old style Control Panel (Winkey-X or right click Start flag and select Control Panel)?
I am looking in old style Control Panel, only shut down and hibernate are offered in Power Options with "change settings that are currently unavailable". No option for adding Sleep

already tried that

Reinstalled a video driver from Dell, restarted PC and Sleep is now an option.
Later, the PC does not stay in Sleep mode. I noticed the same in Hibernate, did not stay in that mode either.
Now on to more research about slow bootup and how to keep PC in sleep mode until I decide to open. Very frustrating!!

How to Add or Remove Sleep from Power menu in Windows 10
Sleep uses very little power, your PC starts up faster, and youíre instantly back to where you left off. You donít have to worry that you'll lose your work because of your battery draining...
I have set power options to turn off screen after 20 minutes.
It resolved itself suddenly a week ago.
Today it is not working again.
Any ideas what could be causing this
I tried command powercfg -requests and get None on all results.
Now that I've upgraded to Windows 10, I can no longer manage my slideshows for my desktop.
In Win 7 and Win 8, I could manage whether or not to shuffle my slideshow and whether to pause the slideshow when on battery power. You can see that screen...
It was there - options for booting into Win7 or Technical Preview. The 'time to display....' is set at 30 seconds but only Win7 is showing. Any thoughts appreciated - regards.
Ay-yi-yi. I reinstall Win10 ver 9926 to fix one problem only to run into another. On my power settings, I only have a setting for turning off the display. The usual sleep option is simply not there! I did a powerconfig setting default in a admin...
