Yeah, I also use MalwareBytes Free! I've heard that about Windows Defender...

Where would I find the DISM log to see exactly what DISM fixed?

When you ran it, it showed fine, use this command again too.
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Log can be found here c:/windows/logs

Ran it again just now. Attached is what I got.

The log file is huge, considering DISM ran only for a few seconds! There were some warnings, and some other things, though. But if it detected no corruption, that's good, right?

Yes, nothing detected. What i figured because you ran it before and told me it showed to be o.k..This was for extra measures.
Yeah ,those logs are and for those who can understand it all, like SFC Logs.

So you're just suggesting that sometimes you have to run DISM a few times to get things right?

That would be if SFC showed files it could not fix, then running both commands is sometimes needed to do more then once and reboot after each one. Your case SFC found nothing, brings me to wonder what fixed your issue, fact no Malware or viruses either.
Could been an icon issue, not sure not knowing every detail of programs this happens to.

I'm beginning to think this was an icon issue. It's not happening now.

Keep post unsolved till you are sure. I am not certain how it was fixed, you did a system file checker and DISM they showed nothing along with full system scan. Did i miss anything else you tried ?

Alright, i thought if i missed anything you did to resolve it, if not, give it time and see. I do not think as i showed what can cause this error can be due to any UAC or permission for the software. Always try reinstalling or modifying the install whichever option is best, as some software when run installer will give you this option to remove or modify without uninstalling and reinstalling it.
