    photos

hi i have been using win10 for about 4 weeks and since i restored it to an earlier date ( which amounted to re-installing it ) it has been going ok, but i have a problem with "photos " , if someone could please advise it would be appreciated .
i am using an acer laptop , win10, and opera as the browser.
    1. i have never save a photo in a computer and i never will save a photo in a computer , i do not need a " photo " program , i have no use for one at all .

    2. my problem for example goes like this , i have just had a betting calculator ( in vb6) built by a guy in Bulgaria.

    3. i downloaded the file from him ok , a zip file , it appears on my desktop or downloads , i click it to open the file and it does open ok , but the actual calculator does not open i cannot enter and odds etc in it , it is " dead " .

4 please advise how i can download the file from this guy AND THEN USE IT ?

5 . i am not too smart regarding files and file trypes etc , if anyone replies please assume i know " nothing " if i have to instal a zip file opening program , how do i use that etc , would it automatically open the file because it was a zip or would i have to do this manually ?

    thank you donar

    Hi and welcome!

You must extract the Zip File with WinRar or 7Zip. And after extracting there should be an Setup.exe. Double click on this file and that`s all.

Windows 10 can open Zip files without any additional utilities. (That goes back at least as far as Win 7.)

Double click on the zip file. It'll show up as a folder. Copy the contents into another folder. Run them there. (I hope that the program is compatible with Win 10.)

As for "Photos", well, welcome to the world of "apps" (not to be confused with "applications"). My Samsung tablet came with many apps, most of which I can't remove without rooting the device (which would void its warranty). Some of them require additional payments to use (like a NY Times news app). Windows has a ways to go to catch up with the smartphone universe in terms of giving you unwanted software. Rejoice.
