That is what I do with acronis. Full images. For some reason, they are just not working.
thanks, I did not pull and reset any parts, but I did run a dell diag again and all passed. I also tried the hold hard drive i have 8.1 on and it boot fine. I am not going to try and restore the last image I made with 8.1 before going to 10 (made on 8/3/15).
one note, my son stated he did a reboot when a game Ark Survival was updating and he went to do a restart. That is when the first spinning dots issue happened. Then he force powered it off. Not sure if that cuased it, but still the restores should work. But those could be two unrelated issues where the acronis restore just does not work with 10.
i did not try chkdsk. I cannot get into windows. I just did a restore of the last image I made with win 8.1 and that worked and system seems fine. Must be something with win 10 and acronis. Maybe my original spinning dots issues is separate from teh spinning dots after the acronis restore. I do not know. Grasping at air here for a solution.
I think I will try one more restore of the win 10 image and then use the recovery usb drive to do a repair. I do not remember now if I tried that!?!?

thanks. I had the latest acronis 2015 build. It should work. Image says it restored, but just will not boot to windows. Now makes me thinks all my images on all my systems using 2015 are useless.
Thank you @Cliff S for mentioning me :)
Hi @rinconmike,
I have read the thread, it sounds for me like the SSD might be damaged, or something else is going on like windows cannot load something properly or software causing problems.
About this part
This might be a cause, but the question would be for how long your son has waited before he forced a shut down.one note, my son stated he did a reboot when a game Ark Survival was updating and he went to do a restart. That is when the first spinning dots issue happened. Then he force powered it off. Not sure if that cuased it, but still the restores should work. But those could be two unrelated issues where the acronis restore just does not work with 10.
But I prefer to help you in the BSOD section if you don't mind :)
As Cliff S stated please read the BSOD Posting Instructions & How to upload files
