Since short it kinda begins to be yes

@rinconmike, please make sure you have rescue media with you, if you do not have rescue media create one.
Rescue media is 1 of the first things everyone should create or get from the place where you bought your pc.

thanks. I downloaded the windows 10 media and used that to reinstall, but even after reinstall I have having issues with it hanging when trying to install dell drivers. I have the internet cable unplugged and created a local account. Just installed the two chipset drivers and trying to reboot and now have spinning dots with the word restarting. Been like that fore 5 minutes. Then blue screen with a crash. Went to grab camera to take a picture, but it restarted. I forget exactly what it said though.

You don't have to get your camera or something to note the crash.
Just read BSOD Posting Instructions & How to upload files is enough for us.

Dell has me running some support assist test. Once I am done with Dell, I will review how to post here on BSOD. But this support assist showed the BSOD as BSOD Driver_Power_State_Failure for driver teedriverw8x64.sys.

That is a driver from Intel Management.
It might mean that that driver needs updating, or you have to remove the software.

EDIT: if it is the cause

thanks. Dell has be reinstalling 8.1 and then said I can do the upgrade after. They think the issue is with a clean install that does not make sense to me, but i have gotten nowhere in 20+hours

You indeed can do the upgrade again, no doubt about that.

Going back to the previous OS doesn't have to 'solve' the problem.
There are enough people who have gone back to the previous OS, but only have gotten more problems.
This is likely because when reverting back to the previous OS, not everything from windows 10 is removed, I cannot say for sure because I have not seen any proof.
Of course, they reverted back via the method Microsoft offered.

Tech had me do a clean install of 8.1 and not revert back. So that is what I am trying - for now.

i am in 8.1 and installing updates. I have a question. Since I just did a clean install of 8.1 and will then upgrade to 10, should I continue from here or my other option is to restore the 8.1 image I have before I upgraded back on 8/3/15 (it worked earlier today so I know I can do that).

I am guessing i am better stick with this clean install and clean upgrade to 10 may be better eventhough I have to install more stuff this way. Either way, I still need to restore the kids game data since 6 weeks old is the same as no data to them.
