    Black screen

Okey so u redirected me here. Yesterday i installed windows 10 from windows 7. I was happy that it worked and started downloading LoL and deleted all my files in D and E. But i had no choice except to leave them for the night. And so i did. But my computer is a little noisy and i couldnt sleep so i wanted to hibernate it. I clicked the bar and my computer turned off. As i was sleepy i didnt really care much so i got back to bed. Later that night i heard my computer work again but im not really sure if it was a dream or not although i did a reality check(i want to lucid dream). But i got back to sleep. In the morning i turned on my computer, saw that the items were deleted and LoL was updated. But i wanted to surf a little before i play and so i did. But after 15-20 mins of surfing the PC turned off suddenly. I didnt think about it much and turned it on again but after 5 seconds of loading my screen went black as if my computer turned off... but it didnt. It was working but the monitor was black. So iturned it off for a while. Then i turned it on again and as if nothing happened. I logged in, started surfing again and blam - again it shut off.
P.S. Im telling u this from my phone and can only tell u that i have 2gbs ram, activated windows pro and an ATI Radeon 4800 if im not mistaken.
    Please help

    Hi @warrior244.

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I am hoping to hear that you did a system image BEFORE upgrading, or have some sort of backup. For some reason, I think the answer to that will be no though.

If you don't, I would suggest running windows update and allowing it to update if possible. If that doesn't work you may have to follow the revert to windows 7 tutorial.

Keep it without power for a few minutes and try to boot it again. If you see nothing and the screen remains black, probably your graphics card has failed. Go check it. If you can boot but after loading Windows you end up with a black screen, maybe you have chosen a resolution not suitable for your monitor. Reset it a few times, until you get to the troubleshooting screen. Try the advanced boot options and the Low resolution option, This should start at 800x600 where you can then change the resolution to something more suitable.

The most possible explanation is that your card failed. That means it is not working anymore and you must replace it. Probably it was overheat during the night or there was a power instability that caused this. The point is that you have to buy a new card, unless you have a spare from another computer. If you have a spare or you can borrow from a friend, it is a good idea to install it and see if the computer boots. If it doesn't, then it could be even worse, that is your motherboard, not the graphics card failed. But you said you can hear it working. If you can hear it working and loading Windows in the background (albeit the screen remains black), then it is the graphics card.

Or Windows 10 downloaded the wrong drivers.

    Either way...

If you can see the computer starting but you have a black screen when loading Windows 10, then yes, it is a driver problem. If you cannot even seen the boot screen, then it is a graphics card failure. Do you have a picture on your screen when you switch it on?
