My HDD Light Stops blinking and my system freezes

So my computer has been freezing quite a lot recently. There's not a specific task that will freeze the computer, it happens randomly. The HDD light will stop blinking and my disk usage will be 100% and my computer will just freeze. I am still able to use my mouse but nothing else works.
    My computer info:
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 645
    Memory: 6 GB
    BIOS Version/Date: American Megatarends Inc. 6.06, 3/22/11

I have windows 10 Version 10.0.18362 and it's installed on a Samsung SSD 860 Evo 500GB. I literally have nothing installed on my computer except for Chrome and VMware. I tried everything that I could find on the internet. These are some of the things I tried:
    1) Disable MSI for the controller in the registry. (This seemed to help but its freezing again)
    2) Scanned and Updated all my drives and Windows.

I tried a bunch of other things but I can't remember off the top of my head. If anyone has any suggestions please don't hesitate. I am willing to try anything. This is really getting frustrating. Thank you in advance. If more information is needed I can provide I just really need this to be fixed. Thank you.

It sounds to me like a storage issue, maybe a broken SSD? Please use Google to find "SSD status tool" / "SSD health monitor tool" etc and make sure you aren't using faulty hardware. I feel your pain though, I was experiencing something similar but with my internet-connection. Best of luck getting it solved.

Whatever you do...do NOT update your BIOS or mess with the registry.....people think this will fix problems and it won't, you'll just risk bricking or messing up your system.

Do you have fast boot enabled, if so, try turning it off.

You can get an SSD for less than £30 these days. It's always handy to have a spare or two lying around for back-ups or troubleshooting.

If you have nothing or little installed, I have found reinstalling Win10 fixes most problems.

Ok, so I used Samsung Magician to check the health of the SSD and it shows that it's in good condition. It doesn't seem like it's a SSD problem.

How do I turn off fast boot? And yes I think I will be reinstalling Windows as my last hope for solving this problem.

Check Reliability History to see if there are entries which may be relevant.
Then in the search box, type in "dxdiag" and check,in particular, the Display page for any entries and also note the Driver version for possible later use.
Then use sfc /scannow for any errors.
    Then use dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Also go into Device Manager and see if there is any problem with Display Adapter

I would try installing a blank second hard disk drive and use that for the virtual memory.

    Goto,

    Control Panel,
    System,
    Advanced,
    Performance Settings,
    Advanced,
    Change.

Locate your 2nd drive and set to System managed, Auto manage. Reboot

    @kushal123 -

    Welcome to Windows 10 Forums!

    Anything installed recently?
Have you run CHKSDK on the boot HDD?

    Let's do that first.

Run the chkdsk command in a Elevated Command Prompt with this simple syntax:

    chkdsk c: /f /v

(If "c" is your boot drive. If so, approve the prompts and let your system reboot. W10 will run it through. If it is not your boot drive there will be no reed for a reboot.)

You might have to give it a second round to be sure that all is clean.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I would then suggest rebooting and following this procedure to narrow down some variables - especially Chrome - (systematic deduction) - one at at time.

Add, Delete, Enable, or Disable Startup Items in Windows 10

When all is resolved, please upgrade to W10 1909.

Let us know how you do.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

So I checked Reliability History and one of the entries read:
A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.
    Problem Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
    Code : 5a
    All the parameters are 0.

The sfc scan is making the computer freeze even more. I literally can't do anything it keeps freezing. I will try the other solutions tomorrow. Thank you for replying and sorry for these late replies..been super busy with finals.

Have you tried the other suggested items,e.g. dxdiag .sfc, etc?A live kernel event is possibly a display adapter problem and carrying out the other checks might fix it,before having to uninstall/reinstall the driver, which you will note in dxdiag--won't you.
