Aero for Windows 10 very cool

[Edit] just to clarify this is just a mock up, it is not ready for release [Edit]

I read somewhere on these forums, about Aero for Windows 8 and it was nice

But what I was really impressed with, was how great Windows 10 looks with transparency on

you can take a peek look here
    Aero Glass for Windows 8

I really, really, really like how it looks,
now if they could only incorporate an easy switch to the Metro screen, too

I have Aero enabled on W8.0. I hope W10 is much better. Aero on 8.0 is better than nothing but I was disappointed because small utilities I wrote that were translucent purple on W7 are just plain invisible on W8.0 with Aero. You see the dialog frame with just nothing where either the translucent color used to be or in the case of extend glass into client area on W7 and Vista you would see a shiny chrome effect.

If they fix the Glass on W10 I will definitely check it out. :)

Edit: Just so you can see why I'm annoyed with the glass kill in W8

Edit2: Hmm, seems neither upload attachment nor direct pasting will let me show the images.

Edit3: I attached Desktop.zip with the 2 images if anyone is curious. :)

Edit4: The reason the blue MD5 screen shot doesn't look all that transparent is the wallpaper when it was taken was a mostly blue fractal. You are seeing the wallpaper through the translucent
    dialog.

Edit5: :) I added a screen shot of my Selector program to the zip attachment, that uses the composite color in W7 that afaik cannot be done in Vista or W8/10. It's the translucent purple I mentioned. (There's a fractal flame wallpaper that's responsible for the colored coils you see through the Selector gui.)

Doesn't work for me. I get constant Your DWM is incompatible with Aero Glass. I'll need to do a System Restore to get out of this it look like.

Can't do a System Restore as no restore points have been created. That's a bug that I will add to Kari's thread. I'll see if I can boot to Safe Mode.

Totally hosed the installation. Refresh won't work as not enough room on the .vdi virtual disk. Looks like I will have to reinstall.

It is not supposed to work on Windows 10, it is just a project they are working on.

I posted the link just so people could see what Windows 10 might look like with transparency
sorry, if I didn't make that clear

The reason why this is not probably implemented in later windows versions is because of how it slows down the system. It uses up PC resources that causes sluggishness. If you are enjoying the snappiness of Win 10 right now (almost instant load up), that's because the system doesn't have to worry about rendering windows all the time to show aero crap. I like the flatness of Windows right now. It's super light and fast!

To avoid such overhead is just a matter of using basic themes and disabling UI animations. But on Vista and W7 it was your choice. Many people who built systems with octal core CPUs and tons of ram weren't sweating a few CPU cycles for eye candy. Maybe that's one reason they built for performance in the first place. But the point is,even when enabled in W8 it looks like crap.

I hate the flatness of win 8 & 10. I'm in front of the screen 10 hours a day every day. I at least want it to have a pleasing look (eye candy). Never noticed any slow down on win 7 with all aero features on. The UGLYNESS is the biggest thing I don't like about 8 & 10.
