I never got the look I was looking for in Win 8. I quickly uninstalled it. I do miss that feature. I don't know why the MS developers like a flat look, it is so boring.

The trouble in a nutshell is that the shell is hard wired into the system. On Linux with X-Windows there are many window managers to choose from. Light fast and flat, others with eye candy and plenty between. For that matter there are specialized distros for particular uses. POS, routers and firewalls, software development etc..

With one size fits all it can end up fitting like OJ's gloves. :)
And that's why Linux desktop managers are always so difficult, disjointed and bolted together as after thoughts. That kind of flexibility comes at the price of lack of integration.

Take a look at Command Prompt -> properties (right click the title bar)

What's that experimental tab with % transparency option?

    Oh!! a Glass Cmd ?

It's not in Win8, I tried and the tab was not present - freaked me out a little until I realized I was on 8 not 10.

I never liked 3rd party explorer desktop skinners (Stardock WindowsBlinds comes to mind). The theme looks good for a while but then readability and usability always seem to suffer, usually because the changing display size in Display settings did not affect the windows close icon, shrinking it into oblivion. Even Aero could be a pain to read the title bar of the window sometimes. Still, with a $600 graphics card pulling up to 250 watts, a LITTLE bling would be appreciated, heh.

Yep, WindowsBlinds still works on Win10 but still does not recognize the change in size of the display settings.

I know what you mean, I've been wanting more colours etc, since 2 colour monitors. I've used Stardock and Windowsblinds etc, loved them at the time but now I also appreciate the clean modern look. I suppose if Microsoft leaves in the ability to turn it on, it would satisfy more people which is good for them. I can also see their dilemma of trying to be everything to everyone.

I really, really would like to see them attain their goal of one OS across a multitude of devices, and me personally am willing to sacrifice a little bling while they get it all together. I can also understand people with big powerful machines wanting everything, that was me up until I saw Windows 8 and learned of their plan. I love nothing better than setting up a new computer or tablet and having most of my settings and documents ready to go once I type in my password.

Unfortunately, some tablets are not very powerful so they can't manage a lot of bling nor can phones.

Allot of things can happen to a Microsoft email account,
It can be suspended for numerous reasons,
It can be hacked and then suspended for unusual activity,
You can be tagged as a spammer and suspended.....
Tying a Microsoft account to a computer login is a can of worms waiting to happen

You're confusing the Microsoft account with a Hotmail/outlook account. They may seem like they're the same, but they're not. They are actually separate things, and your Hotmail account may be suspended or even deleted but your Microsoft account will still be there.

    +1 for Aero :)

I hate the 90 degree corners and the paper thin borders.

Not sure why, but Chrome looks good.
