I agree, that is strange unless you installed/re-installed withing the last day.
Are you using built in Windows Defender or did you install some other Anti Virus program ?
If you are using Windows Defender, you should get at least one Windows Update per day for a new WD definitions file...
Hmmm, I'm having problems with the laptop taking two tries to boot (first try fails, second try succeeds), which is in another thread. I was working with it and eventually had to do a reset, but I think that was at least a couple or three days before I shut it down and came home (been out of town with it). I got it out and booted it last night.

Windows is pretty much in pristine condition except that I've installed Office 365 on it. Nothing else has been installed.

8? Or 8.1? Or did you mean both? My computer slept fine with 8, but stopped with 8.1.

I just noticed my Sleep and Hibernate timeouts aren't working at all. I had been Hibernating from a desktop shortcut manually.

Edit: Ran powercfg -requests which confirmed cause as WMP Network Sharing service which I disabled causing Sleep and Hibernate to time out correctly.

Register your "sleep" issue using "feedback".

I have been following these forums about the "sleep" issues with Windows 8.1 ands now Windows 10 for almost 2 years. I have read every thread and tried everything, but in the end, still have three Windows 8.1 computers and now a Windows 10 evaluation device, all with "sleep" issues.

I'm concerned, that again, Microsoft will not take this serious. As of this morning there are only 8 feedback notices on the Windows 10 feedback site about the sleep problem.

If you have this problem, please add your feedback. To get into the "Feedback" page, use the "Feedback" icon. In "All Areas", select "Hardware and Devices". Then select "Power and Battery". Then open "Desktop computer will not sleep automatically when left idol". You can simply click the "Me too!", but it would probably be better if you added your specific details.

Microsoft is only going to fix high profile issues, so if you have this problem please register your concerns.

Yaho, what are you getting when you run powercfg -requests from an Elevated Command Prompt

Right now showing 2 svchost requests (wuausrv). But I have done a resent "restart" (I do this a lot on all my computers). As with many, a restart will solve the "sleep" issue for a period (hours to days).

I've been here before, and do not want to spend any more time on trying any of my own fixes. I will leave it with Microsoft to fix and if they don't, maybe it's time to move on. In the mean time, I will continue to "restart" a lot.

Found this in the list of "known problems" within the article linked below explaining the Build 9860 release. My machine is down for the count presently so I can't get to the feedback app. I suggest that someone search for a thread or page within the app about the non-sleep issue and link it back here for all to comment there.

•Some machines may wake up and not go back to sleep properly.

I am currently watching the new build for Svchost.exe entries in the powercfg -requests readout. At one time in the earlier build, I was showing 4, right now on 2 different installs I am showing none. I will continue to check, but hopefully that problem has been resolved.

I would bet it's telemetry uploads. This is how they refine pre-beta and beta into the RTM.

In Win8 they didn't even want any other feedback, even from MVP's.
