I just got a Windows Defender definition update installed.
    That created a Svchost.exe request.

I am currently watching the new build for Svchost.exe entries in the powercfg -requests readout. At one time in the earlier build, I was showing 4, right now on 2 different installs I am showing none. I will continue to check, but hopefully that problem has been resolved.
Seems to me that problem will never be resolved. The Defender service uses svchost. (short for "service host") process to get .dll*s up and running just as other services do. So there are many instances that will call upon svchost.

If I'm reading you correct, then this does not close out and continually runs for a system not to be able to sleep?

Here it is explaining it for 7 and Vista:

That sounds encouraging. I have just updated to the new build but haven't yet had an update that didn't require a restart to test this.

Win Defender update has just come through. It put up a svchost.exe (ProfSvc) request but after the update was installed, the svchost request immediately disappeared and the comp slept!!!!

You, beauty, MS. I am confident that my sleep issues are over. Please don't bring it back on the next build!!

For me the svchost.exe did not go away.

It seems MS is working on sleep issues:
Microsoft released Windows 10 update to fix power/sleep

I'll see in a day or so what the latest patch does.

I have that patch installed and sleep is working. Another Defender update went through an hour ago and svchost disappeared immediately.

What are we going to do without sleep problems to keep us amused?

Just noticed no Sleep or Hibernate, powercfg -requests shows two svchost interrupts. Fully updated.

KB3010668 is not installed or offered by WUD.

    Suggestions?

The update to which you refer installed on the 23rd for me. At the same time, KB3008956 installed. If you haven't seen them have you done a manual check for updates lately?

So far, those are the only two Windows updates I am seeing. This of course does not count the Defender updates.

Yes, I have checked several times today.

I thought I'd inline attached this to last post:
