I ended up resetting hoping the newly installed OS has no copilot. I was wrong. Thus, I just removed the app. Out of sight, it is less annoying. Disabling it is not as good as deleting it. I don't know how much space it occupies but I have given up. I am sure my next computer will have no Microsoft as I am going Mac. Microsoft is toxic.

Foe. I'm on the side of the authors and newspapers who are suing Microsoft and ChatGPT for sucking up their copyrighted content.

The only thing that is important to Microsoft is making money anything they can do using CoPilot is to control what a user does and force them to buy their products and pay for them again and again.

I keep forgetting that I am in W10 forum while discussing problems with my W11 device. Thing is, I have no copilot in my W10 PC. My W10 hardly ever gets probs. I have never tweaked it and never resetted it. I often tweak my W11 and resetted it three times already in 2024. for many problems.
Correction: I found out just now that I do have copilot in my W10 device. I did not know Microsoft had installed it recently.

Seconds ago, I read online that Microsoft, on its own, just removed copilot.

How did you find that out?

Honestly the service has a reason for people. I imagine a twisted parent installing it and then using remote service to view
the actions on their kids device. Or maybe even a seedy person who pretends to be a friend or some negative nonsense.
I imagine people at work doing this bs as well.

Just wait until we get the first murder case because some jealous type uses this feature to spy on their other half.
If people already spend time reading internet history and checking cache folders.. what will they do when they can get screenshots of everything that actually is written in encrypted programs or emails.

    Just wait.

Well while we do have that scenario there are tons of "key loggers" that literally log to txty file, and screen-capture programs.
That is not hard to setup such recorder even on a phone device., or something that literally broadcast the video of a desktop or
    phone at all.

Many parental control apps are there so you literally could install it ( I mean from early Android days. Even from the Symbian ( Nokia ) days of monochrome display phones.

    ..............................

Actually the other day I was talking to this guy in college who uses copilot to help him write his resume. It gave him tons of options.
Copilot in my opinion is literally Coortana ( the HALO promoted assistant ) but they relabeled it and updated it's backend. Basically
tricking the user into believing it is A.I. when in reality your just using Cortana. Same with the paper-clip guy from XP days.

So between all that above with Alexia and Seri your pretty much using the same thing but now with added information learning

    ...............

If I wanted to right now I could setup team viewer without anybody knowing and log into the machine ( actually your logging into
team viewer ) and literally could watch the desktop. Imagine having team viewer boot up when the computer starts up. In fact you do not even need Power-tools to have it fill out anything at all.

So do not worry there are tons of ways to probe a machine and a persons actiivities. Besides most people are using there phones.

    You forget the problem
Its one thing if you do it by installing software.. its another thing when its built in in the operating system by default

and you can only set up team viewer and log in, if the person dont know how a computer works.. and you need physical access to the computer in the first place

Even REVO cannot delete Copilot. I removed all visible copilot apps and while invisible, it still pops out and assists in search and answering/explaining stuffs. It is unnerving that it's spying on me.
