    My files disappeared

I had a couple image files in my downloads folder, wanted to move them to another folder. I swear, I did ctrlx>ctrlv. Lo and behold nothing pastes. I right click, paste is greyed out. I go back to my downloads folder and the pictures are GONE. Can't find them in the recycling bin or anywhere else. This is going to drive me nuts. Any ideas on how to track the image files down?

Update: Used the program "Everything" that is able to list every single JPG in thumbnail size, sorted by date, allowing me to find it. I think it ended up in the destination, no clue what happened. I guess this is what working 70 hours a week does to you

The first place i'd have looked would have been the destination, that's where you wanted it right??

Sometimes I have found that what I see in File Explorer is not what I expected. I have to click the refresh button to fix that.
