If I keep my windows10 pro computer after October 2025

I think that when Cortana went unsupported and disappeared with an update, will Windows 10 operating system disappear after October 2025..also I use a virtual music recording and editing app, that functions offline and more or less that will be all that I need the computer for. So if there is some way to stay offline after October 2025, not needing updates because I'm using the computer solely to make use of the operating system to work my music app ..how do I block any updates that may take away the Windows 10 pro operating system. I don't have the Internet service for about a year now but maybe in the future I may get it back.

Win10, just like my Win7, will not automatically die at the EOL, just won't get much in the way of updates if any at all. I'm keeping Win7 usable by keeping the Anti-Virus up-to-date as long as possible. Businesses can buy extended support but expensive, I'd say only necessary for those proprietary programs that haven't been updated and more expensive to buy and/or for hardware that is not easily replaced such as the X-Ray machine one of our local vets uses, the costs will have to be compared.

I tried to explain that I haven't had Internet for a year because all I need is the operating system to make my virtual music recording and editing program work.. I'm afraid that if I update it in the future at a friend or relatives house, the update after October 2025 will make the operating system disappear like Cortana. I only need my computer working offline, no Internet.

    NO.

Windows 10 will not disappear after Oct. 2025.
An "App" disappearing is one thing, Windows 10 disappearing, would start WW III.

The only thing that will disappear after Oct 2025... is the Windows updates.

I would check that your 'virtual music app' doesn't need online access. Perhaps use Nir Sofer's CurrPorts?

Download the correct bitness version (usually 64-bit) of CurrPorts, unblock, expand and run (using right-click 'Run as administrator' option.

CurrPorts will show you a list of executables running on your device... and any internet end-points they are connecting to.

If you establish that your 'virtual music recording and editing app' doesn't connect to the internet, not even to check for updates, then disconnect from the internet. (See this recent TenForums thread: Connect to Local Network But Not the Internet?)

    Hope this helps...

It's also simple to update a 'non compliant' PC to Windows 11 if you wish.

It is a scare-tactic like with Snowden or Bradly Manning. That is why we have crap like HTTPS being sold to people making websites. More specifically Google ( a company that works hand in hand with policing ) literally use this fear in order to
mark regular Http websites as being "not safe".

It is like your being forced to update ( and maybe even make purchases ). Rather then some rouge programmer who delivers unofficial updates and makes programs and applications that shows you "there is nothing to worry about".

They are talking about security issues. ( Imaginary terrorists ). The worst is that some insane Microsoft employee will launch a virus that will make the operating system malfunction. That is it. It is like with XP, great operating system but they have holes ( like swiss cheese ) in the operating system allowing people to browse your files if opportunity is possible.

They are creating nonsense like the toothfairy or Red Santa Claus. It is like netflix users, they are like "look I can dlc stuff too see" and when the movie or tv series is dropped, they are like "aaawwwuuuhhh where me content go?"
