I can practically assure you from a common sense perspective it will continue to work just fine.. Guaranteed!
The whole update mania we have these days is anyway 99% marketing. "how to get at your wallet and suck some money out..."
Don't fall for the screams and push.
In my humble opinion the vendor of the operating system is going in the wrong direction it it will eventually backfire. Soon to be pushing Windows 12 with I don't know what gazillion of absurd and mandatory requirements.
We garter flavor already with Windows 11 despite that some 10 years ago with big fanfare it was announced that Windows 10 is the final operating system.
Do you know and that's a fact, there are plenty of nations where still the vast majority works on a working operating system Windows XP and not the later bloathware behemoths.
Believe it or not that includes contemporary airliners! There is some YouTube video by Stig Shift … Aircraft Maintenance Adventures were you can actually see him starting up an onboard maintenance monitoring system which boots up in Windows XP!
I have in my office an old computer that runs Windows XP and it runs just fine.
All I do is update antivirus software.
Don't fall for the screeching hype and coercion about security etc.
Personally my input: what this industry is doing is criminal. Imagine if you could only drive on the roads with cars that are no more then 10 years old as all cars older are declared not compatible with roads...
furthermore you have to have manufacturer approved tires for specific roads... Can gas up only on specific brand gas stations...
