Windows menus become inaccessible, file permissions changes etc.

    If you don't use it, you can always Uninstall OneDrive

    Thanks for the link. Will note that.
    There is a little bit of a problem for me here. It seems to be related to signing in to my Microsoft Accounts
    So yesterday the problem re- occurred (even though I'm using my local account) and it seems to be because I signed in to Excel and OneNote...
    Unfortunately that makes it rather tricky for me - I use Excel and OneNote every day.
    I will prove this at the weekend, as I'm not going to need OneNote etc.

    You can sign into Office 365 with your Microsoft account while you are logged in with a Local Account

    Yes that is what I've been doing. It's difficult to tease out the cause and effect so will have to see if still happens at the weekend when I don't log in to my Office 365 (via my local account).
