    Persistent MyPhoneExplorer error

I just added my wife's phone to MPE. We both have Samsung Galaxy S23+ phones. I've been using MPE since last year so I'm fairly familiar with how to use it.

For some reason, I keep getting error messages saying ...

    SetPath failed:
    \sdcard\Android\data\com.*
"OBEX errorcode C4 - Not Found"

The sync cycle runs for a bit then one of these messages pops-up, forcing me to hit "ok" to resume the sync.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

I find the path "\sdcard\Android\data\com.*" strange since the Samsung S23+ does not have sd card. Did your wife have another phone before the S23+ that had one?

Perhaps that path is used in an entry within Settings, MultiSync, Customise
    e.g.
    Persistent MyPhoneExplorer error-screenshot-263-settings-multisync.png - Persistent MyPhoneExplorer error-screenshot-265-settings-multisync-customise.png

or another Settings entry such as Sync or Advanced 2.

You don't say how you connect your phones.
The only time I have seen OBEX mentioned has been in connection with Bluetooth.

My wife and I both previously had phones with MicroSD cards. I have no issues.

I always use USB cable to connect to my PC. I will look at the MPE settings that you referenced.

It's only just occurred to me to ask if you have set up the two phones as separate 'user' entries [bottom left of MPE interface].
Or are you trying to use the same settings on both phones?

Yes. My phone and my wife's phone have separate profiles.

Something just occurred to me as well. I cleared the phone's cache partition through recovery mode after creating the device profile in MPE and attempting to sync. I'm wondering if that might have something to do with this. Perhaps MPE is looking for cache files that no longer exist.

    MPE creates its own cache.
    It's not useful.
    - It allows files to accumulate at every sync so you fill your computer's disk up needlessly.
    - When I realised this I set it to delete every time MPE was closed and have not had any ill-effects. - Settings, Advanced 2, Delete file cache on exit.

Never having done what you did, I do not know if you ought to recreate the user [MPE profile] for the phone.
I backup my MPE settings including profiles and manipulate them for new phones to avoid undue effort.
If you are interested, backup now so that the option of restoring bits & pieces within them is open to you later one.
MPE settings & phone ['user'] profiles are in
    Code:
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer
so you can just make a copy of that [ignore the debug.txt file] for potential future use.

That's a great tip. I'll do that. Thank you.

    You type quicker than me.
I copy the whole lot but the main files that you might manipulate later on are
    general.ini
    and, in the phone's folder,
    settings.dat

Both files can be opened, read & edited in Notepad.
