If you compare the information to Nirsoft they are held by the same registrar service and also the same Registrant which could be coincidence but also could be a real sign.
There is nothing unusual about that. They provide 17 million plus domains and are likely based in Iceland due to privacy reasons.

Plus there are good reasons for a company to use Iceland as a base for their data center/ centre.

Sure you are talking about the registar Namecheap though.

its a two part system and the Registrant is what we care about in this case, Namecheap just means they are using the same Registrar.

I agree with what you are saying though, and its also why i made it clear early on that its only a potential.

Okay what am I missing? I just see registrant name redacted for privacy.

i got caught in the discrepancy.

like i mentioned earlier i have not hosted through a service for a long time, i was under the impression that registrant is going to be the customers credentials they sign up with, this actually should be the case unless the service they pay for redacts that info.

I thought i would check and just did a lookup for namecheap itself and its the exact same creds so it means the thread is redundant and there is no way to connect the two. Basically it means that the theory is not valid there is no way to prove or deny.

This says that the registrar is filling that info when the customer is redacting.

i got hung on one small discrepancy which derails the whole line of thinking. Eh it sounded good initially

I've been using Nir Sofer's software for many, many years without issue.

To be honest this thread is, IMHO, totally incoherent and just casts aspersions about a legitimate and much respected software author without any proof or evidence whatsoever.

I cannot even make sense about what the accusation is.

IMHO it's a absolute nonsense post and I've reported it for the ridiculous rant that it is.

EDIT: IMHO this entire thread needs to be removed. (Or maybe we should all give up using Windows because of a potential Microsoft 'iceberg'... it also has 'soft' in its name. Maybe this would appease the OP?)
You talk like you are the only star in the sky and like you are gatekeeping. if you cannot be constructive then save it. Just going to call it i have no problem speaking. I also have no problem being wrong.

NirSoft is a trusted source of dozens of useful utilities for over a decade. My personal favorites are his NirCmd, Task Scheduler and Wireless Network Watcher used on every computer I own. I'm a computer expert. I have updates disabled and Windows Defender disabled. Never had any problems, never will. You know who will have problems? The OP. Anyone who downloads and uses these so-called "Registry Cleaners" will be posting follow up questions wondering why suddenly some software or hardware stopped working, BSODs etc.

Hosting companies are not proactive, they are reactive. Anyone can register a website with any hoster and unless there is reason to flag that site as malicious the hosting company will gladly accept their money. The fact that NirSoft uses the same hoster as that other questionable site is pure coincidence. Bottom line you can't judge a website as trustworthy because it uses the same hoster as one that is.

NirSoft is trustworthy. Period. Your FUD is unfounded.

yep and i never said that domain resolution was a concise way to validate software because you achieve that through analytical finding, critical thinking. Sometimes consensus because a brand speaks for itself. or you come to conclusion through source code or any other several factors.

when i 10 step program an application to conclude it then i mean that. I don't just click play. Stepping though something if you are reading me.

Yes, I admit to trying to 'gatekeep'. I think this is a great forum so make no bones about trying to protect it... for example, by flagging up nonsense, poorly written posts like yours accusing others with no proof or evidence.

Even though you have subsequently been proven wrong... and have admitted it, I see no signs of you apologisng to Nir Sofer for your unwarranted besmirching of his reputation.

Guess what? I'll continue to 'gatekeep'...
