    Do Windows updates.
Hmm... maybe you're on to something? I have "StopUpdates10" installed which is supposed to keep Windows from installing anything in the background, although I have some doubts that it's working, because my %tmp% dir seems to constantly fill itself with gigabytes of Microsoft installation files even though I regularly delete this dir!

But maybe some update has been stopped which would have prevented the files from changing due to daylight savings time?

I have NEVER experiences this before, though. Although, maybe I've just never at some later date compared timestamps between an identical file saved both on an external drive and an internal drive.
