From the searchable Tutorials section start with

Start Menu Troubleshooter in Windows 10
Reset Start Layout in Windows 10
Re-register Start Menu in Windows 10
    - check after each if problem is resolved before proceeding.

(I note the build of ucrtbase.dll is the same as mine fwiw).

    Getting closer I guess.

How do I find out which applications?

And thank you for your reply.

Did you think of clicking on View detailed information?

And there are the other options I gave you.

Yes I tried the other options.
"Other information" did not tell me what was missing.

Is there some way for me to find out?

Is the start menu obviously crashing or failing in some way?

    Considering
    Exception code: 0xc0000409
    see
How to Fix the “Software Exception 0xc0000409” Error in Windows 11/10

You can proceed down the usual route..
    a. create a new user account and check whether you see the same symptom when logged in as that user.
    b. If you do, then proceed to a general repair - an in-place upgrade repair install.
    c. If you don't, the problem is specific to your user account.

It's not obviously crashing or failing.

If it weren't for Reliability Monitor I'd not even notice.
But I'd like to know what is going on.

Again, thank you for your reply.

Use the above ideas to see if some 3rd party program is interfering.
Add to that by eliminating startups to see if the problem stops.

Do routine checks on your system-
    SFC /SCANNOW
    RAM check
    Disk check

Want to see exactly what is happening in absolute detail?
Use Procmon (Process Monitor) - free from MS - to capture all PC activity- with highly technical filters.

Did all of those. Do all of them routinely.

The problem appears to have started right after the last MS update.
I'll wait and see what happens after the next update before messing with it again.

And the result with the new user account?

    Your specs say you have
    OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit 22H2 19045.3031

    I have 4170 and don't see this.
