Could be something nefarious, but my best guess is sloppiness and incompetence. My question is.......why?

It is pretty obvious this error is a minor low priority case.
The errors are noticeable only by looking at the Event Viewer for the most, though in my case I noticed slight delay when right clicks the Start Menu programs.
If you are stressed looking at the Event Viewer, it seems some of you are, simply do a clean reinstall - NOT in-place, I did and the errors gone then even after the subsequent updates.
I did quoted and replied someone a few days ago but it seems he later deleted his comment, I did not know if the quoted comment is deleted reply too get deleted!
Thanks for the reply and suggestion but I am not about to do a clean install because of MS incompetence. They screwed this up and they should fix it. They were the ones that changed the Start function on the desktop to begin with by adding the SartMenuExperienceHost.exe on I believe 12/7/19 so it would cut down on the number of Start Menus not opening so now they have screwed up their own original update. I have every app that I use pinned to my taskbar now so I will not have to open the Start menu unless I shutdown my computer, put it to sleep or I need PowerShell. If this error is low on their priority and not going to fix it then that should make the error either informational or a warning instead of being critical and writing crash dump files as I do not understand if it does not mean much to the DEVS then why have it as Critical.

Don
Does anyone use github? or does anyone know if anyone can post there? Seems like all coders working on bugs, but there are Engineers from MS there commenting. I wonder if posting there we could get some help or get it noticed. I did a search for StartMenuExperienceHost.exe and it pulls some threads.
Maybe a stretch but figured I would post it.

It doesn't always happen when opening the start menu. Just sometimes. For me anyway.
Any idea what the actual triggering event might be?
Mine is the same way Meeker and I wish I knew what is triggering it to throw an error. I very seldom go there now except to put my computer to sleep, shutdown or access PowerShell. All the Apps I use on a regular basis are pinned to the Task Bar now so that helps a lot from opening the Start Menu. I guess all we can do now is wait since we all have tried everything to fix this. We are about due for the May Preview Cumulative Updates to come out so we will see if it fixes this issue or causes more problems like has been happening.

New update just dropped. We'll see.

Nothing at that link says anything that obviously relates to this problem.
Guess what - the 2024-05 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5037849) did not fix the StartMenuExperienceHost.exe. This is so aggravating and I just made another Feedback Hub Post that if they are not going to fix this then let members know one way or the other. I also told then there has been enough posts and replies with documentation here and in the MS Forums. This is ridiculous in every way.
