the battery is sealed in (not replaceable by user)
    The user can replace them.
The procedure is stated in the Service manual for your HP computer model [which is available in the same section of the HP support site that you go to for updated Bios & drivers .
It's simple. Anybody can do it.

I expect no need for battery and unit replacement for a few more years?
No need for a replacement battery for a few more years.
No need to think of a need for battery replacement as necessitating computer replacement.

The reason I ended up buying new unit (every three years or so) was because of total system collapse and inability to boot after major Trojan infection (which I have not encountered with W10 and W11). I had to reset OS 5 times in 2.5 years for malfunctioning from either wrong tweaking (I tweak often) or minor malwares.

That could have been solved by a clean install or recovery from backup.

Make a new system image before any tweak.
    I do.
And I make a new system image every month before the updates arrive just in case they have an adverse effect [they never do].

If a tweak, an update or a disk error corrupt my Windows installation I can be up & running again within half an hour.

And I run a Disk clean every month to stop debris slowing the computer down.

I have never had to rest my Windows 10.
I have run a Repair install a couple of times.

Before W10 and W11, I used to do backup monthly to external drive with Backup and Restore (W7). Now this program does not work anymore. Instead, backup requires third party application which I find too complicated. So, now, I just reset without losing any files.

AOMEI Backupper Standard Edition - Free Backup Software for Windows has a reputation for being easy to use.

Before W10 and W11, I had several backups in external HD using Backup and Recovery (W7). But each time I had massive System collapse from Trojan, I was unable to recover using the Factory image backup because I could not boot. Thus, all the backups and repair kits were useless. I find just resetting not only very easy but also almost THE ideal recovery or "rebirth" because it gets rid of guilty malwares and wrong tweaking and even wrong updates and software installations while keeping all personal files. The only backlash is I have to reinstall some apps (like WhatsApp, analog clock, and re-enter some email accounts in Outlook mail). Resetting comes very handy when PC has slowed down a bit and behaves unstable and I cannot figure out why. In short, my backing up career with external drive is over. Which brings up another topic: Which is better?: reset with cloud (is cloud the same as One Drive?) which takes 4 to 6 GB's or within the PC which is faster and takes less space?

You leap between references to system images & the factory restore image so it gets confusing.
In all cases, however, you must have the imaging utility's boot disk in order to cope with Windows not being able to boot or the OS disk failing.
In the case of Backup and Recovery (W7), there were several boot disks you could have used including Windows 7 System repair disk, any Windows installation disk, Windows 10(?) Recovery drive.

    "Which is better?"
I have no idea. I'm not sure if I've ever Reset.
You could ask in the Reset tutorial.

With Backup & Recovery (W7) prior to W10 and W11, I did have several Backups to external drive and several CD's for repair kit. However, with massive collapse from Trojan, especially with BSOD, restart booting was disabled. Repair kit did not resolve Restart booting issue. W XP and Vista were the most vulnerable to Trojan infection despite 3rd party antivirus. W 7 was better although still susceptible. (to less virulent non-Trojan malwares). W10 and W11, with Defender, are the best. I have not encountered major viral infections (including Trojan) in nearly three years. Once, I had Restart failure from bad driver or software installation, but I was able to reset.
