I want a shortcut to the DETAILS view available for Desktop - in File Explorer, through THIS PC, then Desktop in the left pane.

Windows Explorer command line switches | Smallvoid.com
These options allow you to create a shortcut to open file explorer at the desktop if you look through it.
However there's nothing there to specifically specify the view.
One way to accomplish that is to 'send' CTRL + SHIFT + 6 - which switches the view to detail view.
Therefore I suggest your shortcut would need to point to a script with a couple of lines to
a. open file explorer at the desktop
b. SEND the string to select detail view
Others may have a better suggestion.
The link suggests the code "Explorer.exe /e,/select,"
so I copied that into an empty text file, and saved it as a batch file.
Double clicking it gives me EXACTLY the view want.
Thank you so much.
No script or shortcut needed, Windows key E will open it.
But not to the specific view that @Sebastian42 described.
You can also use:
shell:Desktop
or if you only want to see items from your user Desktop folder:
shell:ThisPCDesktopFolder
All of the shell commands are listed here:

LesFerch & Bro67- I wanted a clickable shortcut, not a keystroke I have to remember.
LesFerch - Unlike the code I quoted, which gives me EXACTLY what I wanted, both your lines of code, saved in a batch-file, 'do nothing'.
Yes, with the prefix I do get the desired result.
You strike me as someone who is tenacious - Perhaps I can titillate your appetite with another challenge.
I want a (batch-file) shortcut to toggle the TaskBar option "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode"
In the Web, I found an AutoHotkeys script, but sadly, it does not work for me.
I can give the reference after the moderators shift this request to 'a new post'.
