    Change Drag & Drop Behavior (to app in taskbar)


    I know this is the default behavior but...

    When I drag and drop a file to an icon in the Taskbar, I have to hold the shift key in order to have the file opened by the app icon on which I dropped it; otherwise File Explorer wants to "pin" the file to the app for some inexplicable reason.

    Is the a Registry hack that will reverse this behavior? My PC is running Win10 22H2.

    So I found this. Read through the page. BUT be aware that this is supposedly for Windows 11.
    This seems like exactly what you want, yet I am not sure it may apply to Windows 10. Does anyone else have input on this?
