Font Problem.... any way to reset?

This is a new win10 install and it seems to have come with a built in problem.

When I try to put single quotes I get a screw up. Various things happen like the first one does not appear when I hit the key. 'but when i hit the next key it pops up okay. like just then. but sometimes it doesn't just çome the party and pop up it does what it did just then and changes a ç into a cedila c - a c with squiggle underneath.

so it seems to be buffering some keystrokes in anticipation and presuming that's what we want. like as though i had it set for some kind of language keyboard that uses cedila's . Which I don't.

Is there some way to reset to a plain vanilla english character set?

p.s. or fix it some other way?

Don't know if it's any help but I'd remove any languages except the one chosen at the initial setup of the computer then if that is not what is wanted install an additional such as English U.K. If you end up with 2 languages just delete one not wanted.

Yep. I've been trying that sort of thing and looks like I've got a fix.

Right now I have English with Aussie keyboard and English with US keyboard.

    this is english australia with ' before a c : 'c

    and this is english america with a ' before a c : ç

looks like the american thing is the problem. :)
