    Use PC without fans

    Hello,

My motherboard is [Asus B550M-A Prime Wi-Fi II & Bluetooth (DDR4)], inside a pc case without case fans now.

How long can I use it safely without overheating or damage anything?

I have a clip fan and a handheld fan, which one would be good to use to blow towards the motherboard? Would it act like case fan?

    clip fan example Amazon.com

handheld fan example Amazon.com: SWEETFULL Mini Portable Fan Powerful Handheld Fan Rechargeable,3 Speeds Personal Small Hand Fan for Travel Makeup Eyelash Fan for Stylish Kids Girls Women USB Cute Design Blue : Home & Kitchen

    Thanks

    @comcom

Whether or not those fans will help, or be any use at all, depends on your temperatures.
    What case do you have?

Generally, if the temp indicators are green, you're OK.

You absolutely should have case fans though.
At minimum, a front intake and a rear exhaust.

The green square right most is the temperature indicator? Why my temp are so much higher than yours? Is it safe to continue to use? Still green indicators Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Your temps are higher because that a small form factor case. My case is a full tower, there's nine fans in there.
As long as the CPU and vid card temps stay below 75C you should be fine.

Looks like your case can take two 80mm fans, one on the front and one on the side.
You could put two of these in there...

    Noctua R8 redux-1800 PWM 31.37 CFM 80 mm Fan (NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM) - PCPartPicker
These fans are 80mm square x 25mm thick.

This is my comp. I have just a bit more airflow.

Would it help to reduce the temperature if I use a normal fan or clip fan or handheld fan to blow air into the opened cover pc case now? Is it necessary?

Would it help to lower the temperature if I use 2 hours and let pc sleep windows start>power>sleep to let it cool down 15mins then use again?

39C is still quite far from 75C

I did not know the case does not come with fans, need some time to get fans.

Unless your vid card or CPU is going over 75C, don't worry about it.
I also keep my computer room fairly cold... about 62F

Small form factor cases will always run a bit hotter... sort of like a laptop does.
Not enough room for serious airflow. BUT... they are designed with that in mind.

I only have one 90mm rear case fan. The PS also has a fan that helps circulating the air. My temperatures (CPU, chipset and MB) are always below 40ºC. CPU and chipset can rise up but never over 60ºC

    I use Open hardware monitor
Doesn't need to be installed. Extract the files to C:\Program Files (x86)\HardwareMonitor and run openhardwaremonitor.exe.
You can configure what to show on the tray and on the gadget. Under options you can set to run when Windows start.Use PC without fans-hard_mon.jpgUse PC without fans-hdmonitor2.jpg

As Ghot suggested, buy and install the 80mm fans.

You need to arrange your fans in a specific order. The GPU fan ( the one that looks like one fan from the bottom that sucks in
and fans in the back the pushes out ) does not matter how it is arranged as long as heat is not being pushed against it. You
could literally stack these kinds. However a GPU with five or six fans visible needs the flow and kind of a set-back in technological advancements because you need space between. Meaning bigger cases.

Usually the front fan blows in ( I guess ), the sealed case makes a type of vacuum, usually exiting through the
PSU fan, extra back-fan, or topside fan ( hot air rises ), Point being the direction of heat moves faster via the
pressure and uniformed direction of air. The Air has to come from one end. The same could be demonstrated when
using a vacuum hose in close quarters limiting the area/space for the air to get pulled from creating a faster pull.
Same with using your fingers on a hose or pipe with running water. But this is air we are talking about.

About ways to cool your computer without a fan.

    1. Liquid metal

Game systems like the PS4 uses liquid metal rather then special paste normally used. However

    2. The heat is carried via liquid pipes, and from that it would be a fan.

    3. The type of metal that is being used and the overall purpose of the
machine also affects the usage. Like the new apple M2 desktops that
portable ( because they use ARM like most phones..Apple literally put
a bunch of ARM chips on a board ), this new computer does not contain
a fan inside of it. If it does then it is unnoticeable.

That being said the kind of metal ( Heat sink ), and the direction in which heats travels
is going to affect the need for a fan or other cooling method. Apple has tried this a
couple of times in the past.

The problem with no fans is going to come down to the GPU. The new Apple also has an
add-on board in case you want to install a big GPU ( with usable drivers of course if any ).
Not sure with surprises you will get with that because it defeats the purpose of it being portable.
