    Missing Cat and Mum Files

    Hello everyone,

I am not too technically savvy so I am turning to here for help since all the google searches have yielded little to no help so far. I am currently on windows 10, (Version 2004 (OS Build 19041. 1348), attempting to install 2 updates of which none have run successfully. The updates mentioned are (KB5033052) and (KB5001717). I ran tweaking.coms pre scan check and found that I have 44 missing Cat and Mum files which need to be addressed. This problem used to just occur for updates, but recently I think has been the culprit for some of my apps not working properly.

Open a Command Prompt as Admin and copy and paste or type the following Bold command and press Enter.
    DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RestoreHealth

    When that completes, then type
SFC /scannow and Press Enter again.

If all still fails, you can do a Windows Repair Install, keeping files.

Trying right now, however I've run the DISM restore health before, and run into problems just after. "Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log"

    KB5033052 is for W10 21H2 and 22H2, it doesn't apply to 2004.
    KB5001717 is applicable to 2004.

KB5005260 is the last Servicing Stack Update (SSU) for 2004. Install this one first, reboot and then try installing KB5001717.

Hello Garlin, I see no update KB5005260 mentioned in my available updates? Do I have to go elsewhere to install it?

    Thank you again.

Download the appropriate x86 or x64 version from the Microsoft Updates Catalog.
Open an Admin CMD, and run "wusa.exe filename.msu", where filename.msu matches the download.

W10 2004 is End of Life, so if your Windows Update is running w/o errors, there shouldn't be any new updates since mid-2021.

Hello, I have just run the command along with the specified filename however it is saying it cannot find the specified file? I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

In the Search box, start typing ---reliability ---which allows you to access Reliability History.
Are there entries and especially flagged ones ?

    This should work:
    wusa.exe ssu-19041.1161-x64_e7e052f5cbe97d708ee5f56a8b575262d02cfaa4.msu

Unless your Windows is messed up even more.
