In this guide, we will be discussing the reasons for computer randomly restarting and tips for troubleshooting a PC that keeps restarting.
Thanks for the video. You reminded me that I need to eliminate the cheap Amazon UPS I bought about a year ago as a cause. I switched outlets from the UPS side to the regular side and that made no difference, but I should bypass it entirely now. Need to get an extension cord though.
Also a good idea to monitor temps. The restarts mostly happen at night when it isn't being used though, so overheating doesn't really make sense. I'll clean up the inside of the case though. I haven't done that very recently, although within the past year or so.
Also, I'll do the RAM test.
Select the "windows not properly shutdown" line, then RIGHT click on it and see if that gives any information. It more than likely wont do so.
This failure warning has innumerable causes, such as a power fluctuation, finger trouble and so forth and if it is only occasional then isn't a great cause for concern.
Just as a precaution,in Powershell [admin ]type in ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ---and when finished, type in ---sfc /scannow ---and keep running until a clean report is given.
This returns system files to normal, which helps after uninstalling third party programmes.
Well I had gone over a couple of weeks without an issue until a few days ago. I did a memory check and there are no issues with it. I changed to another outlet and that didn't help. It's happening like twice a day now. Yesterday the computer seemed to halfway turn off for a few seconds before shutting down. It's shutting down into an unresponsive state more often now. The lights in the room seemed to dim for split second when it failed. I don't know if that's just because of a surge from the computer or what. Maybe there's bad wiring going to the room? I have had mice in the walls. Or is it a bad power supply in the computer? I'm out of things to try.

If anyone still cares, I've decided to just replace my RAM even though there were no errors found by the checker. I've wanted to upgrade to 32 GB anyway, and it's easier than installing a new power supply. It will take a couple weeks to get here.
