    power supply use question

i have this port replicator HP 681280-001 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator Docking Station and i have the hp probook 430 g6 and may be replacing it with a hp probook g7 that takes the same power supply.

my question is can i run the port replicator and the pc on the same 65w power supply with a splitter adapter cable? having to use a power supply for each pc takes up a needed outlet. it seems to me that because the pc is not in need of powering any devices outside of sending data to the port replicator and the port replicator is doing the bull work that i might be able to split the 65w power supply and run both well.

also i just can't recall the name for those cables so if someone has done this and has a source for the parts please send that along.

    thanks

Hi me personally would not do that as the manufacture of pc has figure what the pc needs for wattage. why not just get a power strip to use pc and replicator.
