Shorter Address Bar(?)

I only now noticed this, but the address bar here in file explorer looks a bit smaller than i last remembered....any chance there's a tutorial that can show me how i can make it a bit wider, or is there not one?

hi make the search this pc field smaller by putting cursor on edge of the search field when you see the arrows drag it smaller that will make the this pc field longer.

It reverted Explorer to the "classic" search by disabling feature number 18755234. Enabling that feature will bring back "new" search which includes the taller address / search bar.

Download and extract Vivetool, open a cmd prompt as Administrator, and then run this command:

vivetool /enable /id:18755234

Or select that option "Enable feature 18755234 (Windows 10 Search)" in WinSetView.

this was it. I should've said the address bar looked a bit more slimmer and less WIDER, not longer. I used vivetool and enabled that feature, it all looks normal again, thanks

Ahh the darn English language. We use the word pair "shorter" and "taller" in reference to vertical dimensions, but we also use the pair "shorter" and "longer" to refer to horizontal dimensions. Anyhow, very glad to hear I understood correctly and it's all resolved. 🙂
