I have been trashing about for at least 1.5 hours, without a hint of how do this. I have done this before, but that was several years (or more) ago. At the moment i am very

I have a basic HP Desktop and a Brother HL 2170 W Printer.

All of the discussions that I have seen overly complicated? What am I mssing?

Can some one help me put my letters in the mail?

    Hello Mike,

I'm not sure what you mean, but you can get a small box of "#10 business envelopes" cheap at Walmart or Amazon.

If you're talking about printing on paper envelopes, your printer's Settings page will have something like:
Preferences -> Layout -> Advanced Settings -> Paper Output -> Paper Size -> Envelope #10

Then check your printer's manual for instructions on the correct paper tray setup. Next you'll have to experiment in Word (or whatever text/word processor you're using). Since envelopes aren't cheap, it's OK to reuse the same one 2-3 times while you're trying to get the text to line up correctly.

It's trial & error the first few times to get the margins and font sizes to look right. Envelopes need a larger than average font size for readability.

Do you have Microsoft Word installed on your computer?
If so, open a new Word document. go to the Mailings tab. Click Envelopes on the tool bar.
Click the Options button. Take the drop down arrow to select the Envelope size. #10 is set as Default.
You then can choose the Font, the Return address, etc
