My Memopal?

My Memopal?
I just clicked on "This PC" and it shows Devices and Drives(5). I know what 4 of them are, but the mystery one is a folder called "My Memopal". I have no idea where it came from or how to delete it. If I left click on it, I get an error message box "Explorer.exe - This file does not have an app associated with it...". If I left click, it just show Open and Create a Shortcut.
I think it has something to do with an on-line backup called Memopal, but I have no recollection of installing it, and can't it in either of the ProgramFiles folder, or in the Uninstall list in the control panel.
How do I get rid of it.

As you point out, MemoPal is an online app... so it would not show as a device.
Are you sure it doesn't refer to an Asus MeMO Pad (not Pal) that has been attached for synching at some point?
Hope this helps...

Right clicking only shows OPEN and Create shortcut

Hmm... definitely not an Asus device then.

I just sent an email to support at Memopal. Hopefully they can help. I also ran a registry search for memopal and found a few entries. If I don't hear back from them, I'll try deleting them from the registry... what could go wrong? (I ask sarcastically)

Does Memopal show in ---Settings>Apps>Apps & Features and if necessary on the rjght of that page, ---Related Settings>Programs & Features ?

The app is located C:\Program Files\Memopal\uninst.exe
You can use an Uninstaller app like Geek Uninstaller and browse it to this folder, if it doesn't show in Apps and Features list to Uninstall it.
You will need to go to the apps running in the taskbar by the clock, it may be hidden and Stop it before Uninstalling it.
Just a moment...

Create an image of your whole system - freeware versions of Macrium Reflect and/or AOMEI Backupper. (Me, I'd go into tin-foil hat mode and do both). Don't forget to create a boot USB from both these programs to enable the image to be restored if things go pear shaped.
Then go for broke - delete every reference to Memopal in folders and the registry. Reboot.
EDIT If it's an online app, it won't show up in Geek Uninstaller (or the other option freeware RevoUninstaller) It will probably only have standalone entries in one of the Program Files folders (i.e. nothing "embedded" in the Windows folder, et al)
In my paranoia mode, if it's an online app with no apparent Windows structure I'd be concerned that there's not something running in the background all the time and phoning home every time you use the computer. Might be a completely unfounded phobia, but ......

Success!
I reinstalled Memopad from their web site, then uninstalled it from the Control Panel.
That got rid of the folder in My PC, but left a folder in Program Files. I had to use Unlocker to delete it because it said it was in use.
It was still all over the registry, so set a restore point, then very carefully deleted every reference to Memopal it would let me delete.
I ran a couple of registry cleanup programs and rebooted. No damage done.
