    White desktop and extended screen

I was working fine for some months on my Windows 10 machine using my admin account JON1, although I had been noticing an issue whenever I tried to use file explorer, as the window would invariably suddenly close. This was getting worse over the last few weeks until yesterday I was unable to even open a folder to see files. however the desktop and all icons were still visible and I was still able to run applications including hefty ones like Fusion 360 and the like. So I figured it must be an issue with file explorer perhaps, although running that did not help.

Yesterday out of the blue, the desktop AND second monitor screen both turned a bright white and I could no longer see my icons or do anything. That said, CTRL ALT DELETE still popped up and I could access Task manager and run CMD and see processes and so on from there.

In fact, through the command line interface, as part of attempting to fix the problem (and after multiple logins and even an attempt to restore a back up and uninstall windows updates), I created a second admin account JON2 and this came with a new desktop etc, all of which are working perfectly.

In the C: Users folder I can see a profile for JON1 and one for JON2 and also one for OWNER (the user account that the supplier had set up). JON2 contains some files, JON1 is empty except for a directory "Application Data", and OWNER contains my JON1 desktop and all the directories and files etc, so at least it seems nothing has been lost.

I don't mind discarding JON1, if I can somehow transfer all my files and settings to the new admin account JON2.

What do I need to do? If I were to just copy all the contents of OWNER into JON2 then I do not have enough disk space left for that. What I need is a way for JON 2 to point to the folder OWNER but without risking making my laptop inoperable.
Maybe I could make a switcheroo in the Registry to point JON 2 towards OWNER somehow, but then what if the same issue arises again?

Can anyone please assist me with a clear set of steps to make this work? I don't fancy having to visit C:Users/OWNER every time I need to access one of my old files and obviously some applications (like Fusion 360) were not registered under JON 2 so would need to be reinstalled unless I can fix this somehow. Thanks for any help!

Note: I always install updates on my Windows 10 laptop.

First thing I would try is to log on to JON1 and run these two commands in an elevated command prompt, one at a time...

    sfc /scannow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Hi @excalibur2811,

You can redirect folder JON 2 to point to the folder OWNER with a symbolic link. In this instance, open an elevated cmd prompt, enter "mklink /j C:\user\JON2 C:\user\OWNER".

    Kind regards,
