Can I disable the new Copilot preview feature in Windows 10 Home?

Hi. I'm using Windows 10 Home.

I just installed Windows update KB5032278 and now my Windows 10 Home has the new Copilot preview feature.

I see that I can right click on the taskbar and select or deselect Show Copilot preview button which works to add or remove Copilot from the far right of the taskbar. (there is no setting for it in settings/personalization/taskbar)

But I was wondering it if is possible to completely disable the Copilot feature. I've seen sites with registry instructions but I'm not sure if this is meant for Windows 10 Home specifically.

Anyone know if it can be done?

Also, is there a way to log out of copilot if you are signed in with Microsoft account? Thanks.

    Hi a quick search offers:
Enable or Disable Windows Copilot in Windows 11 Tutorial | Windows 11 Forum

    - from the tutorial section.

I've not checked if there's a version in tenforums tutorials but it should apply to Win 10 too, it says

    Thanks dalchina. That worked.

I downloaded the Reg file and applied it and then restared the laptop and now the Copilot preview feature is missing from the taskbar and also from the taskbar right click menu so it seems to have been disabled. I guess logging out of it if possible doesn't matter now since it is disabled/gone.

I did try it... last night and this morning. I liked my initial experience with it... I was actually pretty shocked with a poem it put together on the fly with a mildly famous and unique first name. It was pretty good. And it got into a little discussion with me about feelings and its name and its instructions that seemed interesting but I didn't push it. It seemed to go in this direction if I gave compliments. After some chats, it stopped responding anymore without explaining why and then I figured I had to log in to my microsoft account to continue which i did this morning. I think it has a chat/question max per day when you are not logged in. So after logging in I asked it some of the same questions and it was not the same. Much poorer results. But overall seems like the usual ai chat mode. I know I will not really use it so I figured I'd just remove it.

    Thanks- just tried ChatGPT
    - sensible answers to
how do you train a horse to counter-canter

How do you connect Nest to a thermostat

Totally useless at timetable or directions (current or commercial data) and anything less well documented.

Once I tried to ask ChatGPT to write some programs in PL/1 (why? TL;DR)

Some of the responses were in fact PL/1 code, but a lot of them were C++. BTW: PL/1 was developer long before C++, and originally ran on IBM and other mainframes of the time.

I found you can specify the language the script is to be written in. The first result with no spec was in Python, then I asked for it in Autohotkey. When I asked for a script that could be added to a context menu and invoked with SHIFT + right click I got a suprisingly detailed and complex answer.
