by the spec looks good enough to run windows 10. You can always upgrade to 10 and go from there, if not happy can you upgrade to 8 Gb ram ? get a bigger SSD, otherwise leave your desktop alone. if is not broken why fix it.

    @dafydd

I just double-checked with NVidia your graphics card and could not find a Win10 driver available for your 6 series card. That does not mean it won't work, but it is something you need to be aware of as it may possibly be problematic. To be honest though, even without a Win10 driver it should be possible to make it work.

You can run Microsofts Win10 compatibility checker and see what it says. Bear in mind that their compatibility appraiser has been known to occasionally give the wrong info.

Type the following into an elevated Command Prompt (admin) for your system to be checked by Microsoft
    Code:
    schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"
It can take 15 minutes or so for it to do the scan and appraise your system

You should be able to upgrade the ram. It probably has 2 2gb sticks in it right now. You'd just have to get 2 4gb ones. It's always better to match your sticks with ram.

I also agree with the SSD upgrade. The prices are really dropping on them.

I got an email from TigerDirect with these prices:

    Crucial 960gb -$320
    Crucial 500gb - $165
    Samsung 500gb - $200
    OCZ 240gb - $90
    Samsung 250gb - $110
    Kingston 240gb - $88
    Crucial 250gb - $88
    OCZ 240gb - $88

Plus you should be able to get a $10 off $100 coupon here:

    Desktop, all the way

I recommend a Samsung EVO 850, go directly through Samsung if you can over there.

I was just going off reply #14

If you have no idea what that means, well then maybe you shouldn`t be touching a computer

What are you confused about ?

There isn't much you can upgrade on that system. 4 gig is probably the maximum amount of RAM it can handle. A faster processor maybe, if you can find one. That board is likely limited to a 95 watt processor. I don't see a dedicated Video card listed so if it has a PCIe slot that's an option for better performance. Switching to or adding an SSD will speed things up too. I have a similar system here, an Asus M2N68-AM SE2 µATX Motherboard with an AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz, plus 4 gig or DDR2. It's as good as its ever going to get. I have an SSD in it and an NVidia GT 610 video card. The only upgrade I can do is a better Video card. I don't use it much these days. It is running Window 10 though with no issues that I know of.
