    Delete Empty Folders....or Not ?

On my five laptops, all running the latest version of W10, I seem to have a lot of empty folders......is it good practice to delete these folders ? or are there some that shouldn't be deleted ?..........

Give us some examples of where those folders are, and what's their names.

Too many to name, but running empty folder finder on Glary Utilities brings up hundreds on each machine......

I'v forgotten how to do a snapshot, but here's a few of them......it gives the option to check, before actually deleting them, and all I've checked so far ARE empty.......Attachment 400094Delete Empty Folders....or Not ?-photo1291.jpg

Leave well alone. Many will be placeholders, some system, some for 3rd party programs.

You don't want to risk creating unnecessary problems for zero gain.

Screenshots and uploading them? See the searchable Tutorials section.
There are also 3rd party tools for creating them.

Temp folders are usually cleared in due course- as they are temp - they shouldn't matter.

If you're worried about space and how it's used, see

Wiztree (free) - excellent, provides both tree and cushion map views after a scan. The latter makes it easy to see how space is used.

You do not need any 3rd party apps like Glary Utilities. These apps often identify folders and files as Empty when they are necessary for many apps.
When viewing files, be sure the Hidden Folders is viewable. You may find that folders that look empty have Hidden files in them.
You do not want to manually delete Temp folders, as some belong to apps.

To clear out Temp files safely, go to Settings/System/Storage turn on Storage Sense. Run it. Free Up space now/Clean Now.
You can also do a Disk Cleanup.

    Hello @Del 80,

For a general cleanup you can use > Open and Use Disk Cleanup in Windows 10.

You can also run the following commands from a CMD Prompt for Temp files:

    Code:

    for /d %%x in (%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Temp\*) do @rd /s /q "%%x" >nul 2>&1
    for /d %%x in (%SystemRoot%\Temp\*) do @rd /s /q "%%x" >nul 2>&1

    I hope this helps.

The one item on the list that stands out for me is mbam, part of Malwarebytes program. Good advice has been given. As for being a problem, it will depend upon how much capacity the drive has.
