Not a bug. but...Has anyone seen disk cleanup or optimize in the start menu on Build 10041? Maybe I'm overseeing it, but to use them I either have to use search(fastest method) or use them from file explorer(Which yeah is a logical place seeing that our partitions & drives are represented there) then pin them to taskbar when I really want to pin then to start.
Cliff, you can also right click on the program's icon>Open file location and then pin it to the Start menu.

-Opening a photo in file explorer opens the Photo app with a black screen without an image then closes (crashes?).

-System does not sleep at the set time interval, it will not sleep even after hours of inactivity. When sleep is manually activated the system does go into sleep, but wakes within seconds/minutes, without any input from the user.

-After changing Windows theme to one of the high contrast themes, then changing it back to a non high contrast theme, the taskbar and login screen keep the high contrast colors.

-Cortana searches are placed under Recent Files in File explorer. Why?

-Moving Windows Feedback even once to a secondary monitor forces it to always open on the secondary monitor even after moving it back to the main monitor and closing it on that monitor.

Not a bug, but I'd like an option to lock open the start screen (opposed to start menu) to a secondary monitor while working on the main monitor. Apps/programs opened by the locked start screen would open on the main monitor (unless told otherwise).

Not sure if this is a bug, but I'd like the opened app/program bars on the taskbar to be after the icons on the taskbar, rather than where the opened app/program icon is located on the taskbar (moving the bar, moves the icon; annoying!).

Anyone else having shutdown issues? One laptop of mine (HP ProBook) restarts if Shut down is selected from Start Menu or Win+X menu. Not a big deal, though as command line shutdown works, I just created a shortcut for command shutdown -s -t 1 and can shutdown using it but normally I forget this so I first select Shut down from Start Menu, then realize it's not goiung to work and wait the laptop to restart and finally shutdown using the shortcut.

    Hi there

If you are running in a VM on a Linux Host -- the touch pad problem is easily solved

From your Linux host simply type : synclient TouchpadOff=1

Now as far as windows VM is concerned the touchpad doesn't exist and is completely disabled.

BTW disabling the touchpad fixed a video issue I had - the cursor would randomly jump when entering data making composing say a word document almost impossible.

I know this fixes it for LINUX hosts but a load on these forums do run Windows VM's on Linux hosts so this info hopefully will be of some use although it doesn't fix the Windows only (Host real machine or Windows VM on a windows host) problem of course.

    @Kari shutdown problem.

Laptop (HP envy sleekbook) shutdown sometimes hangs - that only seems to happen if I've left the laptop ON for a long time > 10 hrs and also been running any sort of multi-media servers on it. Shutting down these types of apps and removing any USB devices attached to a laptop before shutdown might fix the issue.

I wonder if it's something to do with Windows updating automatically all the time.

    Cheers

Has anyone had a problem with connecting to the Internet with IE?

It's not a consistent problem . . . Mostly when I've left the computer alone for awhile. If I try to go to a website, nothing happens; it just kinda sits there in the tab looking stupid.

    Glad to read that!

Yes. I thought it was my ISP, which is notoriously lousy

And I'm glad I'm not the only one.

It just happened again, and I have just logged onto the computer!

I'm going to test it with Firefox now. See if it's IE or the build.

Do you mean leaving IE open for a while or did you close it and come back? Tell me which and I'll try it, then give you feedback. I have 10 fired up in the other room(messing around with syncing, by the way IE syncs very well between my Win8.1 and Win10, even when I create a new favorite).

At first, I thought it was leaving IE open. However, when I first booted up and tried to go to a site, I got "waiting on msn" or "waiting on xxxxx"

I tried closing IE and Outlook, but that didn't work either.

For now I'm using Firefox, but I haven't had it installed for very long. Right after I installed, I had to leave for an appointment and just got back. So, I'll need to have FF on the puter for awhile before I know much about it.
