Feedback: A local copy of your feedback is stored in folders under:
    \AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftFeedback_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

The data is in subfolders and all have a filename/filetype of UIF_FeedbackItem.json
    - to find them all, navigate to your Appdata folder and use the search string:

    UIF_F type:json

Here's a short one in the raw format.
This was feedback that I added to an existing report: Explorer memory exception on shutdown in Bld 9841 (fixed in 9860, but I think there's still a memory leak. Since 9860, I often have to decrease the memory allocated in the VM just to start it.

I know Kari ... I could use dynamic, but I'm not for certain tests)

    Code:
    {"BuildString":"9841.0.amd64fre.fbl_release.140912-1613","ContextId":"121","ContextVersion":"0","CountInstances":34,"EnvironmentName":"UIF_Production","FeedbackId":"0470c95f-0721-4e4a-bb8b-01d9d591a461","FeedbackInstanceId":"14f59669-fe62-44e3-9414-1fcb5fe158bb","FeedbackLanguage":"en-US","IsAbuseReport":false,"Text":"Win8.1; HP dv6-6c10us laptop, 6 GB: running Win10 in a Hyper-V machine (2 GB vRAM, 30GB vhdx). VM 'lives' on a 40 GB physical partition. Increased vRAM to 4 GB, error did not reoccur. Secondary issue perhaps related: Shutdown - VM could not connect - dialog box opened asking if I wanted to reconnect. Answered YES, then shut down the VM from the lock screen - no error, no dialog. Restarted the VM and poked around to find Page file was set to 700 MB (let Windows select) - recommended was close to 4k MB (3998 ?) - currently allocated was 1024. Set manually to 3072 MB and neither problem has reoccurred. Observation: Physical partition consistently 99% fragmented; Win10.vhdx is at the end of the volume; possibly causing the error if the VHD tried to expand.","TimeFirstReported":"\/Date(1413117472267-0400)\/","UserId":"0000000000000000"}

And the same one after I edited it for 'pretty print'

Windows 10 bugs-notebook.png I changed the Userid for privacy - not sure it would be useful to anyone, but ....

If you included slashes (/) in the report, they convert to line breaks

    Quotes (") convert to backslashes I think - use apostrophe's (') instead.

When I added the favorites namespace to the homefolder registry entry, everything started working as it should.

Toggling the 'recent' options on the Start menu tab (Taskbar properties) now controls if recent information (files and folders) is presented in Home. An anomaly exists though - not all applications get recorded. If I open an image file in preview - that gets placed in recent files and shows in home. If I open an image in Gimp - that is not shown in recent (or Home). Same thing for Textpad - files opened with that do not get placed in recent or show in Home.

Folders - I got one to show up, not sure how though. It might have been when I previewed an image in a specific folder.

This is not an important issue for me - but I'd like to know more about how MS plans to use Home. If it's limited to the three namespaces then it's not a useful feature for me.

I'd rather see Home act more like a library where a user can place what they want in their Home location. I'd stick my user profile, Favorites and Libraries (off the navigation pane) in there and then lose the locations on the navigation pane and the User icon on my desktop.

    Thanks Kari, thanks Brink

Not sure, but I'm thinking this is like a hub for devices somewhat like Office hub except for OSs. This folder will eventualy be displayed on all devices via OneDrive sync service. This would follow along the plan of one OS across all devices. Just a hunch.

The new Navigation pane is a bit too cluttered for my liking.

MS should allow users to turn the individual sections off/on via checkboxes.

Another option could be to make the Navigation pane act similar to the "Jump Lists".
Allow users to "Drag & Drop" folders into it.

Caja (in LM 17) has several different modes for the Navigation pane/sidebar area.

At least MS lets you include or exclude Libraries and Favorites (right click in an open area of the navPane)
Including Control Panel is defined somewhere else.
You can always elect to not show the navigation pane
And our beloved Brink has a number of tutorials telling members how to customize the navPane.

We are in agreement - more flexibility for the navPane would be welcome.

I noticed that there were some options. :)

That would be too much like the useless file manager in OS X.

I've been playing around with 'Clover' as an alternative to File Explorer.

There's nothing better (at least for me) than Total Commander.

In W7, I use FreeCommander for anything other than the most basic file operations.

I guess I should install it in W10 to see if it works.

A simple but useful method might be a "open in new Window +Jump"

    which does what's expected.
