    Hi there

INBOUND network connections via HOSTNAME from W7 / Linux servers TO W10 don't work properly -- via IP address they work OK.

Blocking port 139 seems to fix this (??) -- works though.

Note problem is FROM W7 / Linux TO W10. (Other way around it works fine).

    Cheers

I got it running eventually without having to change any port settings.

Are you certain that there aren't any other services/programs causing the issue (e.g. blocking/using the required ports)?

    Hi there

I've installed (and re-installed) this "Ad Nauseam" both on VM's and Real machines as updates AND FRESH INSTALLS - and EVERY time I've had the same problem - I've even re-downloaded the iso several times too. I've done a NEW W7 install and a complete Linux server re-install -- EVERY TIME without exception in every possible combination I've had the networking INBOUND problem.

I've probably tested this stuff in more different ways and on as much different hardware than most people in sophisticated Labs who get PAID to test this. !!!

All I can say is my W10 system is the GB version of the ENTERPRISE technical preview X-64.

So I haven't a clue in why on my systems its not working properly. I've done Fresh installs, Update from W8.1, run on Real machines (both INTEL and AMD), run as Virtual machines too on W7 / W8.1 / Linux / even a W10 HOST. VM's I've run on HYPER-V and VMWARE.

I can't imagine a scenario I HAVEN'T tested ( I haven't tried VBOX - but I don't intend to use that anyway). So I just GIVE UP at this point.

The Port 139 cludge gets round the problem -- but obviously not a satisfactory answer.

    Cheers

    @jimbo45,
I am not really sure where the problem is but definitely it's not Windows 10. All my home devices: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Ipad, Iphone and Media Players(2) can access Win10 both Wired and Wirelessly without any problem.

As fas as port 139, it is for File and Printer Sharing set in my Firewall and I did not have to do anything with it.

Just a thought, have you reset your Router or even check if they have a new firmware ? Or if you have another Network Card to try ?

How can I bypass the password/pin number when I start W-10?
When I start W-10 I just want it to load to the desktop without me doing anything.

Use Netplwiz as told in this tutorial (Option One), applies to Windows 10, too: Log On User Account Automatically at Windows 8 Startup

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been trying that tutorial for a hour with out any luck.
I have also lost the ability to use a pin number. Now it tells me my password for the Microsoft account isn't any good but I can still log in using my named account Jack.

I'm going back and try some more.
If I have to keep logging in W-10 every time it's useless to me.

I dumb. I figured it out. I change the setting on one account. (Jack admin) when I changed it on (Jack admin and Microsoft account) it worked.

Just a thought. If something in the bug list gets fixed will it be posted here? Or more likely in the News forum?
