Not for me. Your drivers perhaps? I'm using Vista drivers still and the desktop including the notification area looks identical. Does it look like this?
I'm running Win 10 as a VM, maybe that makes a difference.
    Drivers are handled by VMware.
The bottom icons are Win 7 Host, and the top icons are Win 10 Guest.

Not a big thing but when I first installed Windows 10 the start button was animated (like and moving shine) but after the first update the start button is now just 2D flat.
    It's animating for me.

No mines installed as a dual boot and using small icons, I will have a mess around with it in the morning :)

I think you are probably right - it is VMware.

I'm not using a VM - I upgraded and hoped for the best. From 7 to 8 to 10 they all look the same to me and they look like your 7 set-up.

For me, (on the Start Menu UI):

Untouched, the Start Menu icon is white on the translucent taskbar:

when I mouse hover over it, it changes to the accent color that I set over on the Start Screen UI(?):

when I raise the Start Menu, it changes to my present accent color:

Not really a bug but it bugs me!
In navigation pane 'Home' and 'Favorites' are identical however, Favorites is expandable which I desire but Home is not yet I can hide Favorites but not Home. (seems redundant).....
    (No, I don't hate Windows 10!)
It looks to me as if Home is a 'library' of sorts, but there are no library controls.
If you look closely at Home, it says Favorites (3) at the top

The manage tools are for a shortcut.

That's all I know at the moment.

Preview Feedback=Yes No: Memory error at 0x000000 when shutting down Win10 Hyper-V (Win8 host)

I think this began after this preview update:

Update for Windows Technical Preview for x64-based systems (KB3001512)

    Installation date: ‎10/‎08/‎14 08:11
    Installation status: Succeeded
    Update type: Important
Install this update to resolve issues in Windows. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article for more information. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
    More information:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3001512
    Help and Support:
    http://support.microsoft.com

    This has been consistent.

I need to check my Hyper-V settings and see if it the dreaded User Error before reporting

    +edit
VM machine: increased vRAM from 2 GB to 4GB
-No Explorer error after shutdown ... but received can't connect to VM - reconnect? dialog box
Increased paging file (was Let Windows manage 760MB allocated) to 3 GB (75% of vRAM)
    No issues since making changes

    Observation on Win10 VHDx:
High fragmentation on Win10 C: drive
    99% fragmentation on physical partition
    - also the Win10.vhdx was moved to the end of the drive (possibly due to expansion)

    Defraggler:
    Win10 machine
    C: Fragmented files defrag
    C: Free space defrag
    C: Full defrag

Physical machine (partition containing Win10 VM)
    T: Free space defrag
    T: Full defrag
    -edit

It seems like they are very different but it probably wouldn't be obvious until you have used it a bit.
Look at my screenshots here, this is my Favourites

I believe this is just simply things that are added as favourites
    Windows 10 bugs-fav.png

    Then you have home

I believe this is your favourites along with recently open files/folders/shortcuts etc

I suspect the idea is that after you have used it for a while you end up have a Home that has you most used/recently used things.

It is a favorites/frequently accessed files and folders. I personally find it annoying and removed it and added a regular link to explorer which opens up This Computer which shows me all my drives.
