Thanx for the insight... been trying to get Conservation mode to work but seems to default back each time...

    Hi,

I have a Lenovo G710 but I think enabling the Conservation Mode in different laptop models wouldn't make much of a difference. This procedure works for me and I believe it will work for you too:

    1. Click on the up arrow icon near the battery indicator located at the bottom right corner of your computer display.
    2. Once you click on the up arrow it will show some hidden icons not normally displayed on your taskbar. Move your mouse around those icons until the “Energy Manager” text is displayed.
    3. Click on that icon and the Energy Manager screen will show up. Then click on the small circular dialogue box located on the right hand side just above the big clock-like indicator.
    4. On the top right corner click on “Settings”. On the right hand side of the Conservation Mode is a switch like gauge.
    5. Move the switch from left to right with your mouse until you see an orange colored “I” appears. This shows that you have already switched on the Conservation Mode. To confirm, you will see the Conservation Mode displayed near the electrical plug icon.
    6. Exit by cllicking "X" located on the top right hand corner of the dialogue box. And you're done!
Hope this works well. Good luck.
Later through the thread, other people complain that the setting does not stick.

It would help if you filled in your TF system specs and identified the version of Energy Manager.

See if there is an update - what I've read is that an older version sets the conservative threshold to 60% - that's too conservatinve. A 'newer' version sets the threshold to 80% which is reasonable for battery conservation.

Full Disclaimer: I don't buy into this battery saver idea. My laptop is usually plugged in on my desk and is rarely transported - my tablet serves that purpose now, unless I need a Windows machine.

I should probably just run on AC and remove the battery when it is fully charged to reduce heat, but my $tore stand won't work with the battery removed - the legs fall into the battery cavity. The other reason to keep the battery in place is in case of power failure - the battery is a built-in UPS. Desktops should come with laptop batteries !

It should be in there, it might be tucked away, way down the list.
    Path:
'Settings/System/Optional features/Add a feature' about ¾ of the way down.
Thanks, I missed it before. I'd like to see Optional features organized better - languages in on group ..... more similar to the way things are presented on the Desktop. It's ridiculous to scroll through over 75 language settings to find some other settings. Oh and alphabetized list might help too!

Seeesh, you think the developers were just learning to write code, instead of being extremely experienced in Windows and ease of use.

I think your original image threw me off - the .NET reference was near [ + ] Add a feature
I did scroll down, but missed it anyway

Didn't fix nuthin for me ... But then, I didn't do the refresh or whatever you did earlier to try to fixit. I'm planning to wait for the imminent 100xx build (he says hopefully).

I forgot I changed that lappy to a dual boot system.

I had wanted to do that for awhile, and when I changed out the hard drive so it would be bigger, I used the WD one I'd used on the laptop that cratered. Windows 8.1 fished around and found drivers for everything. I was impressed and decided that would be a good time to create the dual boot system.

Clean installed Windows 10 Build 9926 from the latest download. Updates were installed also. I tried Word then, but still got the "it ain't gonna install" error.

This afternoon, I changed the power options and coincidentally, Windows updated. I know because it told me three times that the update was successful! :)

So, I promptly went to get Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I didn't expect it, but they all installed nicely and are ready to take care of my requests.

Music App stills crashes when pinned to the taskbar!

    On the up side...
Album art doesn't look too shabby when pinned from Music App,
(Not as good as OblyTile though!)

It crashes only from the taskbar ?? That would be strange.

    Well..., not exactly.
If you open something with 'Music' App and minimize it to the taskbar right away, the music stops after about 30 seconds.
The app is still there, the music just stops.

    update successful notification

Hi, I have build 9926 installed. Every time I reboot I get a little window that pops up saying "update successful" even when I have all my updates installed. Also, are you guys able to keep your windows centered on your desktop, ie This Computer, Libraries etc. Mine are over all over the desktop after closing and reopening them. I'm a neat freak:) Thank you.
