What is that option supposed to do for you? I can't tell if it works for me or not as I have no idea what it should do.

It's the cloudy film on the screen (except snipping tool GUI) when snipping is activated to snip by pressing "New" or Ctrl/PrntScrn.

FYI, Ctrl/PrntScrn is better used so you can snip the popup.

But then you get the whole page & have to open paint/paste/edit/cut/paste?new/save (or something like that lol)...etc to get just the desired copy of the drop-down or popup menu only.

This is how I usually snip things to illustrate drop-down menu's etc...
Use the Windows 7 Snipping Tool to Capture Popup Menus

In this case the popup dialogue box was from the Snipping tool itself so I had to use ctrl/prtscrn etc... the dialogue box needed to be closed before snipping tool would work in the first place. Sort of a Catch-22

Here's how you snip a region of a popup:
    1. Run Snipping tool
    2. click on the drop down arrow next to "New"
    3. Select "Rectangular snip" then press <ESC>
    4. display the Popup you want to snip
    5. Crtl + Print Screen then click and drag on the region.

Oh, okay, I get it on that but, here's what I did; I pressed Ctrl and PrtScn and the Snipping Tool popped up with the overlay and crosshairs ready to go! Only worked once though!

BTW, you can eliminate steps 2 and 3.

After you save the first screen, Click New then <ESC> again, repeat step 4, 5 above for the next.

Also, Ctrl/PrntScrn is what needs to be used in Modern. It transfers the snipping tool over to that UI.

Esc is also used if the snipping tool is active to deactivate in case you want to redo something.

2 and 3 are needed if Rectangular region was not selected previously

That's why on the next capture, you only need step 4 and 5

Where can bugs in builds be reported?
Other than the built in feedback app - because it has a bug for me on build 10166 and is just a blue windows with a logo that doesn't provide any means to do anything with it. On build 10166, I'm finding there to be many bugs. Some of them are: ...
