But then you get the whole page & have to open paint/paste/edit/cut/paste?new/save (or something like that lol)...etc to get just the desired copy of the drop-down or popup menu only.
This is how I usually snip things to illustrate drop-down menu's etc...

In this case the popup dialogue box was from the Snipping tool itself so I had to use ctrl/prtscrn etc... the dialogue box needed to be closed before snipping tool would work in the first place. Sort of a Catch-22![]()

Also, Ctrl/PrntScrn is what needs to be used in Modern. It transfers the snipping tool over to that UI.
Esc is also used if the snipping tool is active to deactivate in case you want to redo something.

2 and 3 are needed if Rectangular region was not selected previouslyBTW, you can eliminate steps 2 and 3.![]()
That's why on the next capture, you only need step 4 and 5
