    Always show menus stopped working.

My menus are always showing even though i disable "always show menus" in folder view options. I think after some registry tweaks, but i forgot which one.

You can revert changes where you've made a mistake using System Restore.

If you're applying tweaks, do so cautiously, keep records, and make sure you have planned a way back.
    Better to restrain your enthusiasm.

You can schedule the creation of restore points- I have one created daily (Tutorial available).

Hopefully you're also using 3rd party disk imaging regularly and routinely, as so often recommended here.

Almost since the first Windows was released with System Restore in it, I've been using it. And it's saved my butt many times.

Early on, I read about a script to force a new restore point. It would create a new restore point with the name "Hacked the Registry".
    Weird, Eh?

I found that if I just put that script in my Startup Folder, I'd get a new restore point every time my PC was turned ON.

With each new version of Windows, the syntax for that script has changed. Even between Windows 10 and Windows 11 it changed again.

But every time I install Windows, of any vintage, I install my little script into the Startup Folder and then I make sure that System Restore is turned ON for the C: drive and that enough HD space is reserved for the Restore Points.

One of the biggest problems we have with Windows, is the Automatic Updates. I always make sure that those are turned OFF, once Windows is fully installed and the hardware drivers have been installed.
You can have Windows all set up exactly the way you want it, and one update can screw it all up. I've even taken service calls on PC's, where an MS update has totally disabled the PC. The only fix for that, is a Backup Image File of the C: drive.

    Cheers Mates!
